POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing the Drug & Alcohol program including collection, testing, program improvement, staff training, and ensuring the integrity and compliance within the company. The position will provide program leadership and make recommendations for future development.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare for and administer monthly drug and alcohol random testing for all jobsites and conduct quarterly corporate random testing

  • Coordinate the Department of Transportation (DOT) and (NON-DOT) required testing and ensures accuracy and regulatory requirements

  • Maintain compliance reporting on DOT and NON-DOT regulations for testing

  • Establish and maintain open communication with designated medical review officer

  • Establish collection facilities throughout the company that meet regulatory standards

  • Conduct site audit and collection facility audits to ensure full compliance of company program

  • Coordinate and distribute drug testing supplies to job sites and designated collection facilities

  • Train and certify other employees within the company as Certified Collectors (Specimen, BAT, Oral Fluids, Hair)

  • Educate employees and supervisors on reasonable suspicion detection and other alcohol and drug awareness initiatives as appropriate

  • Ensure that compliance is met for PHSMA pipeline work by working directly with NCMS and other entities and preparing/updating specially developed Drug and Alcohol plans

  • Maintain compliance as a contractor by supplying NCMS and other entities with any requested information. Complete and file required quarterly reports

  • Act as primary contact person to review and report drug/alcohol results and report non-negative results for proper action. Enter all results into tracking system.

  • Coordinate and oversee compliance of company random drug testing program and site-specific requirements

  • Conduct and facilitate site wide random testing as needed to ensure company and sub contract compliance of Drug and Alcohol program

  • Maintain records and data as requested by the Director of HR

  • Perform all other actions necessary to accomplish the foregoing essential functions

  • Perform functions as deemed appropriate to maintain the operation of the department

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two to four years of applicable work experience in a related field

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • DOT qualified collector and Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) preferred or must be trained within 30 days of hire.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek's Zero Injury principles

  • Requires advanced skills in Windows, MS Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Outlook, Internet and the ability to be trained in various other systems (in-house programs)

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Able to effectively present a subject to a group or individuals

  • Able to maintain records and documentation

  • Familiarity with MSHA and OSHA regulations or a general safety background is helpful

  • Ability to type and technically write policy with appropriate grammar

  • Able to speak and write clearly

Position Description: The Distribution Center (DC) Supervisor monitors and effectively oversees and supervises the daily routines and specific tasks of assigned shifts and employees which may include a focus area of either transportation and/or warehouse management The DC Supervisor manages a sub-set of employees and provides back-up support for the Distribution Excellence Manager, including ensuring the Center meets and integrates with Company's requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal requirements, environmental policies and general care of duty. Coordinates all assigned warehousing activities with management and administration. Champions safe working conditions and monitors employees to ensure safe operation of equipment within the warehouse. Primary Responsibilities: * Provide leadership and manages the day-to-day activities for warehouse associates or delivery associates assigned to different shifts. Manage employees and team performance; provide SEAL onboarding, train or provide adequate training for employees; coach, motivate, and evaluate employees; investigate complaints or performance concerns; implement disciplinary action as needed and in consultation with field human resources. * Maintains staff by selecting, recruiting, training, and mentoring employees for development growth. * Performs daily huddles at the DC to ensure employees understand work tasks expectations and deliverables. * Provides back-up support for the Distribution Excellence Manager; adheres to ATD's quality standards, health and safety, legal compliance, environmental policies, SEAL operating platform deliverables, and general care of duty. Primary Warehouse Function Responsibilities: * Plans and leads all assigned warehousing activities with management and administration to ensure quality delivery of all daily production goals. * Manages warehouse associates organizing the labor of loading/unloading delivery trucks, operating fork lifts/industrial equipment, picking material to fill orders, staging product for loading, periodic inventory control and proper shipment of orders via third party carriers (LTL). * Supervises and record via warehouse management system, the receipt, storage and distribution of equipment, supplies and specialty items in a centralized warehouse operation. * Manages maintenance of assigned facility, product handling equipment and inventory warehousing control systems. * Champions safe working conditions and monitors employees to ensure safe operation of equipment within the distribution center. Transportation Function Responsibilities: * Plans and leads transportation activities to ensure efficient delivery and operation of company vehicles, adherence to DOT regulations, and timely and accurate delivery of products to improve service to internal and external customers. * Reviews and implements work methods and procedures to increase productivity and achieve effective routing using various monitoring systems such as Fleetmatics, Telematics, and Roadnet. * Ensures compliance with pre-trip vehicle inspections, standard procedures when arriving, unloading/loading departing, and obtaining payments when delivering products at customer locations. * Collaborates with service providers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of delivery vehicles responsible for the maintenance of all company vehicles. * Provides guidance and follow up as it pertains to Department of Transportation regulations and driver compliance in accordance with JJ Keller guidelines. * Deliver an on time percentage (%) greater than 95%. * Champion of safe working conditions, safe driving procedures and monitors employees to ensure safe operation of equipment within the distribution center.
