Job Description

A Driver has the general responsibility for operating the assorted vehicles maintained and utilized at Tranco Logistics. Driver and or Driver assistance for loading and unloading of the product may occur. A Driver is expected to work with other employees to effectively meet or exceed expectations for quality and operations. Be compliant and follow all
DOT regulations.


  • Has the primary function of operating vehicles.

  • Maintain an F endorsement or Commercial drivers License.

  • Maintain clean driving record.

  • Possesses the ability to read and follow operating procedures.

  • Must maintain and turn in for billing all receiving/shipping documents.

  • Performs additional duties as required under the direction of the LT Manager.

  • Adheres to safety guidelines.

  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicles and records/reports any mechanical defect needing repair.

  • Performs job duties with no assistance or supervision. Independent judgment is required.

  • Secure loads with the proper equipment needed for transport to the end-user (e.g. straps, load bars, chains, dunnage).


  • Educational:

    • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required

    • Meet all applicable DOT requirements.

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds

  • Occasionally move and/or lift up to 100 pounds (with assistance)

  • Environment:

    • Work is performed in a low noise, well-maintained environment with the associated hazards of driving.

  • Training:

    • Requires Commercial Drivers License.

    • Requires TN. F endorsement.

    • Requires special skills based on extensive training and experience.

    • Complete company monthly Safety Video Training.

  • Performance:

  • $1500.00
  • Payout of the sign on bonus @30, 60, 90 days.

VIEW JOBS 7/13/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-10-11T00:00 Pay Grade: 34 The Center for Transportation Research is seeking a Research Technician to collect traffic data under a contract with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT). This position will work out of the TDOT regional headquarters in Chattanooga with responsibility for traffic data collection activities across the 24 counties in TDOT's Region 2 (visit to see a map of the TDOT regions). Primary job duties include field collection of traffic data, data entry and reporting, and support for other sponsor or university activities. Typical traffic data collection activities include: * ensure data collection vehicle is supplied properly with equipment and supplies (traffic counters, road tubes, chains, locks, clamps, nails, etc.) * travel to designated locations where traffic counters are to be placed * proper placement and setup of pneumatic count tubes and electronic traffic counter * return to previous sites in a timely manner to collect count equipment and retrieve data * forward traffic count data to TDOT staff on a weekly basis * conduct other traffic data collection activities, including manual intersection turning movement counts, on an as-needed basis This position will require daily travel with frequent overnight and statewide travel. The position holder will report to a supervisor within the Center for Transportation Research but must also communicate and coordinate activities with multiple TDOT staff members. The target starting date for this position is October 2, 2017. Requirements: Education: High school diploma or GED Experience: Two to three years of prior full-time work is experience is required. Prior traffic data collection experience is preferred but not required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * the ability to perform labor intensive field work in a variety of weather conditions * knowledge of computers and common office productivity software including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and email clients such as Microsoft Outlook * the ability to read and translate maps * the ability to travel on a daily basis with frequent overnight travel * strong communication skills * attention to detail * the ability to work independently without frequent interaction with supervisors Other Conditions of Employment: Valid driver's license University Of Tennessee Chattanooga TN
