We currently have a part time opening for a Driver at Birmingham Central Services in Brimingham Central Services. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Drives a variety of vehicles which may include a hearse, limousine or removal vehicle. May transport clients during services or deceased person(s) to medical examiner/mortuary from place of death and from mortuary to place of funeral service and interment.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists casket bearers in moving deceased to place of funeral service or interment.

  • Inspects stocks and cleans vehicles before departing from garage to point of destination to pick up passengers.

  • Fuels cars as needed.

  • Arrives at appointed destination on or before agreed upon time.

  • Respects families by maintaining a code of confidence and limiting interaction to professional conversation.

  • Assists passengers in and out of limousine with special emphasis and patience given to the handicapped and elderly.

  • Assists with the movement of the casketed deceased and related items into and out of the visitation area, funeral home chapel, church or other place of service.

  • Assists in forming the funeral procession in its proper order while attending and directing traffic on funeral home and/or church parking lots.

  • Drives the hearse, family limousine or other vehicles in the funeral procession and/or other funeral related activities.

  • Assist in loading flowers into flower car and/or hearse.

  • May assist with arranging floral tributes in visitation area, funeral home chapel, church or other place of service.

  • Other driving services as needed by location

  • Other duties as directed by management

Requirements & Qualifications

Education:

  • High School or GED equivalent

Experience:

  • A minimum of 1 year driving experience is required.

Certification/License:

  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable Driving Record

  • Chauffer's license as required by state laws

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Professional appearance including appropriate dress is required

  • Ability to follow instructions given over the phone or in person

  • Ability to work effectively with others

  • Ability to communicate politely, professionally and appropriately with passengers

  • Must be flexible and adaptable to changing schedules

  • Basic computer knowledge is helpful

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Must be compassionate and courteous

What is a Store Driver? Entry level store position capable of supporting delivery of parts to commercial customers. The role has the responsibility to deliver parts to our commercial customers and assist with task and inventory processes in the store. This position can be part time or full time and must be fleet safety certified. Primary Responsibilities * Safely deliver parts to customers as needed * Pick and stage parts for customer orders * Pick up returns and cores * Drop off weekly / monthly sales flyer * Daily collection of credit accounts Secondary Responsibilities * Store Cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot * General stocking including truck stocking and back stock Success Factors * Basic driving and navigation ability * Ability to use delivery board system * Friendly communication * Ability to locate and stock parts * Safety knowledge and skills * Operating inventory systems (Back stock) and store equipment Essential Job Skills Necessary for Success as a Driver * Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and management * Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals * Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals * Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed Prior Experience that Sets a Driver up for Success Automotive parts experience is preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must have a valid driver's license and be fleet safety certified Physical Demands The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
