Position Summary:

Our Roll-off Drivers are responsible for the hauling of waste debris from large, high volume heavy industry and automotive customers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • The driver is responsible for performing assigned duties on roll-off delivery and hauling routes.

  • This physically strenuous position involves mounting and dismounting a heavy-duty truck many times each day.

  • Must be able to lift, pull or push 50 lbs. Must be able to sit and operate a motor vehicle for prolonged periods of time.

  • Must frequently be able to ascend and descend ladder to secure tarp and tarp straps.

  • Must frequently be able to kneel or crouch to inspect vehicle.

  • Communicate information essential to accurate receipt and shipment of material to customers. Expresses ideas clearly and in a professional manner. Hear warning facility or warning signals to maintain safe clearing from moving vehicles (e.g. backing).

  • Identify road signage and assess road conditions and discern implication for safe operation of vehicle. See and read documents and interpret instructions. Ability to see warning signals

  • Must be able to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle as defined by 49 CFR 391.41

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand and apply instructions in the English language.

  • Must be able to understand and fully comply with all laws governing the trucking and warehousing industry. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations related to container quantities, blending, etc.)

  • Information System: At Roads; People Net, Vehicle Types: Roll off, PUP trailer

  • Our Roll-off Drivers are responsible for the hauling of waste debris from large, high volume heavy industry and automotive customers.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED, preferred

  • Possess the proper CDL with all applicable endorsements and clean driving record

  • A minimum of 2 years DOT driving experience in the last 5 years

  • Experience loading and unloading shipments for delivery

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with clients in a professional manner

The Shuttle Driver must have complete knowledge of driving procedures, possess a CDL, and have an excellent driving record. The Shuttle Driver 's role at LKQ is movement of parts to other locations throughout the Southeast. The Shuttle Driver will be responsible for loading, unloading, heavy lifting, safely driving and delivering part as well as documenting information and delivering excellent customer service. Essential Job Duties: * Drives a truck to transfer product between locations, wholesaler and drop box locations in outlying markets. * Pick up truck at the warehouse and may load truck according to safety standards and to ensure product integrity. Verifies the condition of the truck, the manifest and other paperwork associated with the delivery. * Drives to the destination and physically unloads the truck, verifies parts unloaded, obtains signature of receiving location confirming the accuracy of parts shown on the order and those received, and signs off on the integrity of what was loaded at the location. * Makes proper notations on the manifest, or provides credit memos on parts being returned to the locations, wholesalers and drop boxes. * Pickup stock purchase orders or buy out purchase orders from vendors * Maintains all DOT driver logs of hours and related records. * Goes through check in process when returning to the location to verify parts and paperwork. * May turn in all paperwork to the Accounting Department after check in. * Complies with established company policies and procedures. * Assumes other duties as assigned. Must possess a valid driver license with the proper endorsement for driving a one-ton delivery vehicle, and an acceptable driving record. Must meet the Department of Transportation's testing and physical requirements. Must be at least 21 years of age. Class A CDL required. Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment: This position requires individuals to occasionally be on their feet except when operating machinery, or Company vehicle. Should not have any lifting restrictions and must not be afraid of heights. They must be able to stand for long periods, sit, walk, push, pull, bend, climb and be able to move/lift up to 75 pounds regularly. They must be able to climb ladders, stairs and withstand heights of more than15 feet. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, as well as an office environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.
