We cover thousands of homes across the country, with a comprehensive range of programs and services, including host home and foster care. ResCare partners with people in the community who open their homes to individuals with disabilities and assists families by providing adoption and foster care services. As a(n) Driver you will:

We are looking for skilled Drivers that have the ability to function well as part of a team. You must have very effective organizational and communication skills to service our clientele efficiently. The primary responsibility of the Driver is to help meet the needs of customers by delivering and picking up pharmaceuticals, clients and/or customers in a timely, safe and courteous manner as well as operate a Van, Truck or Car. We seek highly motivated and experienced Drivers with a background in Medical and Pharmaceuticals. Knowledge of reading maps and previous driving experience is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely transport clients, customers and/or medication to customer locations, centers, and/or off center appointments in a timely, safe and courteous manner

  • Maintain driver logs and complete pre-trip inspections

  • Follow all ResCare Standards as well as policies and procedures

  • Adhere to all safety requirements

  • Maintain the service and appearance of truck

  • Follow delivery/pickup instructions from Dispatcher

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy and/or Shipping Manager

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Must hold a valid Driver's License

  • CDL preferred

  • Must have a clean driving record with none of the violations below:

  • Any major violations (DWI, homicide, reckless driving, drugs, leaving the scene)

  • Two or more other moving violations

  • Experience communicating both verbally (on phone, one-on-one, to groups)

  • Education, Experience and Required Skills, Including Certificates,

  • Licenses and Registrations

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Valid Driver's license

  • Must be able to pass Drug Screen and DMV Check

  • Basic Computer Skills

Additional Information

Regular Class C Drivers License, no special license needed to drive our vans. Certified Nurse Assistant Certification desirable but not required. Provide transportation for residents to and from medical appointments. Arrange regular maintenance of facility van. Maintain nursing supplies.

Inspects manifests and shipping paperwork for accuracy, and abides by all regulations set forth by DOT, EPA, state and local governments, and VES-TS policies and procedures. Typically home on weekends. Training provided for OSHA 40-hour certification. * Strong Team Player * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks * Strong customer service orientation * High school diploma/GED required * Valid Commercial Drivers License A * Hazmat (H endorsement required) * 40-Hour HAZWOPER training preferred.
