Job Description:

The main purpose of this position is to work with drivers to identify and resolve any issues they may be facing in relationship to Werner Enterprises. Analysis on the calls received will determine reactive and proactive measures needed to improve the overall driver experience. This encompasses all areas of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Continuously interact with all drivers in effort to support their daily tasks and help with interruptions they may have. Communication via telephone, email, and the drive Werner application messaging system.

  • Work as a liaison between the driver and other departments, i.e. Fleet Assignments, Safety, Recruiting, Payroll, Operations, Werner Maintenance etc. to identify/resolve issues, answer questions and assist where needed.

  • Maintain a phone log to document all call issues, resolutions, and parties involved.

  • Using the call log, report monthly information to the driver retention committee on issues and consistent feedback from drivers. Use this information to identify trends and areas we can improve operationally and company wide. Report to the committee areas you see are not meeting driver's needs.

  • Develop contacts in other departments and utilize them as needed to ensure driver's needs are met to maintain efficiency and productivity.

  • Provide or refer the driver for additional training if needed.

  • Knowledgeable in the use of AS400, Microsoft Office, Excel, and other office database systems.

  • Timely and regular attendance per the scheduled shift as determined by supervisory personnel.

  • A 4-year college degree or equivalent experience.

  • One to two years Customer Service experience preferred.

  • One to two years Fleet Management/ Operations experience preferred including AS400.

Summary This position requires the incumbent to safely operate an 18 to 24 foot commercial vehicle and to deliver dialysis solution to a diverse home patient base and to dialysis centers. Home patient deliveries consist of delivering dialysis solution, rotation of stock, and order accuracy assurance with occasional order pick-ups and returns. This position is physically demanding and requires the incumbent to make deliveries in challenging locations as our customer base resides in urban and rural localities. Home deliveries will require the incumbent to deliver up to, and at times in excess of, 45 cases per delivery. The incumbent will work closely with multiple levels of the supply chain; including but not limited to, dialysis patients, regional office staff, customer service team, and healthcare professionals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities. This section contains a list of five to eight primary responsibilities of the work. The incumbent will perform other duties as assigned. * Responsible for the safe delivery and pick up of dialysis products to home kidney dialysis patients and dialysis centers. * Responsibilities include driving an 18 to 24 foot straight truck, delivering supplies inside residential homes, rotating stock, inventory checks, and pick up and return of supplies. Physical Environment: * Working environment encompasses all areas of a distribution center, tractor trailer, patient homes, and dialysis centers * Repetitive lifting and moving of cases weighing up to 50 pounds * Frequent entering and exiting of vehicle * Frequent bending, crouching, twisting, reaching, grasping, climbing, and balancing * Frequent kneeling, squatting and wrist turning Qualifications. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. List knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. N/A: Intern or Co-op * Pass DOT drug test and physical * Pass background check * Pass Industrial Capabilities Test * Must be able to perform multiple day routes that include overnight travel * Must be able to obtain License for Material handling equipment * Training and test performed by Baxter trained instructors * Must be able to use multiple pieces of equipment to perform duties including but not limited to loading and unloading vehicles Essential Requirements: * Follow all safety rules for equipment use and driving outlined by Baxter and DOT * Excellent communication skills * Superior organizational skills * Ability to learn and adapt to new technology * Maintain driver HOS log using Electronic Logging Device (ELD) * Must be able to properly maintain HOS log manually in event ELD is not available * Must understand and comply with all DOT rules and requirements * Ability to adequately distinguish colors to identify product labels * Ability to effectively work with a diverse customer base (internal and external) * Good computer skills essential to maintain required online training * Must be professional, courteous, and self-motivated * Must possess effective problem resolution skills * Must be able to meet physical demand of position * Prior inside delivery experience a plus * Safely operate material handling equipment such as lift gates, ramps, pallet jacks, walkie rider, Liftkar (stair climbers) * Work productively and effectively in extreme cold and/or extreme heat * Must be able to work overtime on short notice * Perform other duties as necessary Education and/or Experience.
