Position Title: Driver Recruiter

Position Reports to: Director of Recruiting

Position Summary:
Under general supervision, recruits experienced and student over the road, regional, dedicated drivers, rehires and Hub drivers. Maintains standards as outlined by West Side Transport policy and standards in regards to hiring of drivers.


Essential Functions and

Responsibilities:

1.Use provided marketing material to generate interest from provided applicants along with generating your own additional leads.
2.Visit truck school classrooms giving presentations on our student training programs.
3.Handle inbound and outbound phone calls from potential drivers concerning possible employment with West Side and inform drivers of the available positions based on their experience and hiring zones.
4.Pre-qualify drivers to ensure they meet West Side's minimum qualifications and hiring guidelines by conducting phone interviews, completing the driver's application, reviewing job history, background checks, moving violations, and accidents for all potential drivers.
5.Finalize the hiring process by scheduling the driver for orientation and organize arrangements for travel and lodging. Verify travel and assist orientation coordinator.
6.Work with other departments to review questionable applicants.
7.Assists with various company projects involving competitors' information gathering, driver retention efforts, company morale projects and company public relations events.
8.Track call and application advertising sources and assist with the advertising placement for driver recruiting as requested.
9.Performs other related duties as assigned.
10. Handle all driver issues as they arise during the orientation process.

Qualification Requirements:

Education and Experience: Previous experience in recruiting or call center. Knowledge of hiring procedures, DOT regulations and the transportation industry a plus.

Reasoning Ability: Capable of using good judgment and discretion to accomplish goals and work requirements.

Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to work in a fast paced sales environment.

Must have good computer skills and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Build relationships and rapport with current and future employees.

Physical Qualifications:
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Long periods of sitting and use of telephone and PC required.

Recruiters will partner with hiring managers and successfully implement all stages in the recruitment cycle including but not limited to recruitment & talent acquisition strategies, sourcing, interviewing and selecting qualified candidates ensuring all recruitment activities comply with company policies, and applicable state and federal laws and regulations. Recruiters will research, identifies and recommends appropriate traditional and non-traditional recruiting sources to fill job vacancies and build a pool of qualified candidates. Recruiters will participate in job fairs, professional conferences and community events and conducts presentations to build brand awareness and promote career opportunities. Recruiters must understand how to use data in the analyses of the recruitment life cycle to measure the effectiveness of the recruiting sources and implements improved strategies to ensure overall recruitment objectives are met. Other duties as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Responsible for filling open positions with qualified candidates in coordination with hiring managers. * Works with hiring managers to plan and execute recruitment activities. * Serves as first-reviewer of resumes and applications. * Conducts initial phone interviews and recommends candidates to hiring managers. * Maintains database of all candidates who are and have been actively involved in the recruiting process. * Manages the process of moving a candidate through the recruiting process, including scheduling interviews, collecting feedback post-interview, and regularly updating candidates and hiring managers. * Responsible for sourcing job openings, including researching new sourcing outlets and tracking the effectiveness of sources and ad placements. * Develops and maintains an online presence on social media and other relevant sites, and leverages networks and connections to promote the division and its professional opportunities. * Creates and places job ads, and develops and maintains promotional materials. * Builds and maintains a pipeline of candidates for each level and type of position. * Travels to program sites to work with hiring managers. * Assists with managing modifications and changes to job descriptions. * Assists with the administration of the online recruitment and onboarding system. * Participates in recruitment related improvement projects and initiatives and other HR projects as needed. * Researches, analyzes, prepares and presents recruitment and retention statistics, and maintains records on recruiting activities. Supports the development and maintenance of recruitment metrics, dashboards and reports. * Assists in factoring salaries and making job offers. * Assists with additional HR activities such as moving a new hire through our credential check and on-boarding processes, checking references, and reviewing personnel files to ensure compliance. * Ensures that recruitment related practices are in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. * Works with the rest of the Employee Services department in the administration of recruitment, pre-hire processing and onboarding. * Builds professional relationships with colleges and universities, and professional and industry organizations. * Represents the organization at career fairs and similar events to enhance network of professional relationships and generate potential candidates. * Other duties as assigned Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
