Primary Function:

ChristianaCare is looking for a full-time Mobile Van Driver to provide safe, efficient, timely and professional Transportation Services to Community Events. The driver assists the PDA (Patient Digital Ambassador) with setup and breakdown of events, patient engagement, and registering/checking in patients. Here at ChristianaCare, it is a top priority to keep our caregivers and visitors safe, the driver will help assist with monitoring surroundings and reporting any suspicious activity to dispatch.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• In partnership with the mobile van team, ensures the successful coordination of van events

• Drives the vans to and from events at designated time.

• Completes necessary patient-specific documentation and obtains appropriate consent for treatment.

• Answers all phone calls in a professional manner and relays accurate messages.

• Performs operator preventive maintenance daily on assigned vehicles and cleans the facilities daily and as otherwise assigned.

• Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.

• Performs other related duties as required.

Hours: Varied Schedule - Monday through Sunday

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of security background experience preferred.
• 2 years of experience driving vehicles over 10,000 pounds preferred.

Special requirements:

• Must have a valid driver's license

• Active Medical Card

• A clean driving history - active accounts with Sterling

• Will be required to participate in random drug testing.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements

• Ability to engage with patient and family in a physical environment.

• Knowledge of computer software

• Ability to assist with software systems and patient check-in

• Ability to organize and complete various tasks simultaneously

• Ability to adhere to HIPAA and all privacy regulations.

• Maintains confidentiality of workplace & patient information

• Knowledge of Federal, State of Delaware, and CCHS Transportation rules and policies for operation of motor vehicles.

• Knowledge of CCHS Transportation standard operating procedures.

• Knowledge of proper radio and dispatch procedures.

• Knowledge of proper vehicle preventive maintenance procedures, DOT & CCHS specific.

• Knowledge of properly operating and securing wheelchairs.

• Ability to operate vehicles in tight spaces safely without damage to vehicle or surrounding environment.

• Ability to operate assigned CCHS vehicles safely under varying conditions, including varying loads, traffic situations and weather conditions.

• Ability to present a "good public" image and consistently exhibit good personal demeanor when dealing with people.

Standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting

Working conditions:

Driving a motor vehicle and exposure to specimens requiring transport to another location.
