Schneider is seeking a Driver Manager to join our thriving Operations team! Our Driver Managers provide excellent leadership to a group of our hardworking Drivers in a fast- paced environment. In this role, you will act as the key link between the business, our Drivers, and our customers. In this safety focused position, you will be accountable for fielding calls from Drivers and working one-on-one to solve problems with creative solutions that exceed customer expectations and our company objectives.

About the Role:

  • You will make safety-conscious decisions while ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures

  • You will balance the needs of our customers, our Drivers, and the business resulting in a high degree of efficiency and effectiveness

  • You will provide ongoing direction and leadership to Drivers and internal associates to ensure excellent customer service, key factor achievement and associate development

  • You will collaborate with others in the organization to identify and implement both local and global creative solutions to improve retention

  • You will manage Driver payroll, and will ensure Drivers have quality time at home

Successful candidates will:

  • Have a four-year college degree or have equivalent experience

  • Have transportation, supply chain or logistics experience

The Contract Compliance Manager is responsible to work with a group of 30-35 Owner Operators who have active leases with Hub Group Trucking. The Contract Compliance Manager is accountable for the performance of these valued vendors in the areas of service, safety, utilization and lease retention. Further responsibilities are for conducting business reviews with the owner operators to ensure a productive business relationship is created and maintained. The Contract Compliance Manager ("CCM") will assist the Terminal Manager with recruitment and approval of new owner operators, to include evaluating potential owner operators as a good fit to lease with HGT. Additionally, the CCM will become proficient in the use of Transportation Management Systems to ensure timely and accurate data. The CCM will understand the contract language in place with all owner operators and ensure that the contractual obligations are met. Essential Job Functions * Facilitates productive business relationships with HGT owner operators by setting mutual business goals, conducting regular reviews and implementing improvement plans when either party is not satisfied with current business results. * Accountable to ensure owner operators are running their businesses in a safe manner and they are compliant with all regulatory expectations of HGT. The CCM will coach individual owner operators who are not running their business in a manner that is consist with HGT's safety and regulatory requirements. * Responsible for resolving business issues that may arise between the owner operator and HGT. * Accountable for lease retention and recommendations on lease terminations. * Ensures owner operators are compliant with all Federal Motor Carrier Act regulations such as, hours of service, random drug testing, proper licensing and endorsements. * Interviews potential owner operators and participates in leasing decisions. * Coaches and advises owner operators to ensure success in areas such as proper use of tools and systems, including, for example, Omnitracs, document scanning, and settlement processes. * Tracks and manages assigned owner operators agreed upon schedules; alerts planning teams when owner operator(s) will not be working. * Works to resolve owner operator settlement issue and discrepancies, including authorizing additional accessorial revenue. * Coaches the owner operator on utilization to ensure the contractor is generating enough revenue to keep their business viable. * Supports load planning in the areas of re-plan and recovery of loads. * Works until the driver issues are resolved for the day and/or a proper hand off has been made. * Monitors deliveries and pickups for service failures and proactively alerts load planning and carrier management of any loads in jeopardy of failure. * Duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time. Hours: Tues-Fri - 9:30 AM - 7:00 PM; Saturday - 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM * Bachelor's Degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university preferred. * 3-5 years' experience in the transportation or supply chain industry preferred. * Experience with other applications, such as transportation management systems or operational systems in a large corporate environment preferred * Strong leadership skills. * Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills. * Must be a self-starter and highly motivated individual. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to manage multiple priorities as well as flexibility to adapt to change with new systems and methods while working in a team environment.
