Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: Lead a fleet of 10+ drivers and manage driver availability to maximize productivity of their fleet. Routinely review P/L for assigned area and find ways to maximize profitability.

  • Develop high performing drivers through daily interactions, coaching and positive reinforcement.

  • Meet drive home time expectations by actively managing expectations and keeping commitments.

  • Maximize P/L for all assigned tractors and trailers.

  • Collaborate with Planner(s) and assign drivers to lanes that best serve both the company and the driver.

  • Ensure all drivers are treated with respect and equitably distribute work (desired lanes/least desired lanes).

  • Build and nurture long-lasting relationships with drivers.

  • Proactively manage safety performance to achieve insurance and claims cost as a percentage of revenue targets.

  • Ensure payroll accuracy for assigned drivers.

  • Perform driver reviews according to scheduled specified by Driver Retention.

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations and perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

  • Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

  • Skills:Must be able to lead others. Must possess exceptional communication skills. Must be able to multi-task. Must be able to work in high pressure situations in a fast paced environment.

  • Education: Associates degree in Business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required. Bachelor's preferred.

  • Experience Required: 2+ years' in Operations and/or Planning and/or Customer Accounts required.

Performs maintenance activities to include troubleshooting failures, replacing parts, repairing components and/or replacing light systems. Utilizes various specialized vehicles, equipment, and tools. Assists in the maintenance of traffic signals. Participates in emergency operations, including snow removal, as required. Starting Pay $19.82 - $21.65 DOE Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintains City owned street lights by performing routine maintenance and repair work. Diagnoses system failures using electrical testing equipment. Performs minor maintenance and repair on signalized intersections (nocontroller problems) Upgrades indications (LED) and control buttons (ADA). Assists street lighting inspector on inspection of installation of new street lighting installations. Visually inspects installation of cable, junction boxes, pipe and connections, poles. Jboxes, control centers, and wiring connections. Utilizes computer to enter and extract data from work management system. Operates a plow truck during snow operations, as assigned. Performs routine maintenance and repair of poles, arms and fixtures. Operates bucket truck to repair 30' street lights. Troubleshoots and repairs underground wiring problems. Locates suspected wiring failures using electronic scan tools, excavates and makes needed repairs. Supervisory Responsibilities May be assigned to manage part-time or seasonal employees. Requirements Knowledge of preventative maintenance required for the tools and equipment which will be operated and the ability to detect the need for and make minor repairs or adjustments on tools and equipment Knowledge of generally accepted practices, procedures, equipment and materials used in the installation of street lights. Ability to work and relate well with co-workers, supervisors and the general public under varying circumstances. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Three years of work experience in construction, engineering or electrical activities. Language Skills Communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid Utah driver's license required. Flagger Certification within 6 months. Other Skills and Abilities Operation of a bucket truck Physical Demands Moderate to heavy physical activity. Must be able to lift items that may weigh up to 100 pounds. Work Environment Moderate mental effort is required daily with frequent exposure to stress from deadlines and working with other departments. Regular exposure to cold, heat, dust, fumes, noise and traffic hazards. Some seasonal overtime and/or weekend work is required. West Valley City West Valley City UT
