Durham's driver in Training program will provide all the necessary tools in obtaining your CDL to become a School Bus driver. Requisition is for Elizabethtown PA location which provides pupil transportation for Elizabethtown School district and Donegal School District. Great place to work along with great pay. Requirements Include:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age; for Tennessee School Bus Drivers, must be at least 25 years of age per state law.

  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, all valid applicable state license and other required certifications to operate company vehicles.

  • Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; as a safety-sensitive employee, will be subject to random substance abuse screening under Company policy.

  • Must satisfactorily complete and pass all training and attend safety meetings and in-service meetings in order to remain qualified.

  • Extensive knowledge of traffic rules and regulations.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to lift and assist passengers when necessary.

  • Must have a high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of vehicles such as school buses, sedans, vans, paratransit vans, limousines, taxi-cabs, shuttles, medium duty buses, transit buses, and/or motor coaches.

  • Must practice defensive driving at all times and avoid vehicular and industrial accidents by practicing safe driving and work habits.

By transporting cargo and supplies, you'll play an integral role in keeping the Guard moving forward. In this role, you will operate all wheeled vehicles and equipment over various terrain and roadways; manage load, unload, and safety of personnel being transported; employ defense techniques; identify, correct, or report vehicle deficiencies; and prepare vehicles for movement/shipment by air, rail, or vessel. Job Duties * Oversee and check proper loading and unloading of cargo on vehicles and trailers * Employ convoy defense techniques Helpful Skills * Experience in driver education * Interest in driving and mechanics Through your training, you will develop the skills and experience to enjoy a civilian career with trucking, moving, or bus companies as a tractor, trailer, heavy truck, or bus driver. Earn While You Learn Instead of paying to learn these skills, get paid to train. In the Army National Guard, you will learn these valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance. Job training for a Truck Driver consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), which includes practice in driving several types of military vehicles.
