JOB SUMMARY

Delivery Technicians (DTs) at Apria improve the quality of life for our patients at home by delivering, setting up, and instructing patients on the use of medical equipment in their homes and care facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Pick up and deliver medical equipment (e.g., respiratory supplies, oxygen equipment, hospital beds, wheelchairs, etc.) and oxygen to patients in their homes.
Assemble, set up, inspect and test equipment, and instruct patients and caregivers on basic operation and maintenance, in accordance with state licensing limitations.
Complete paperwork relating to deliveries, pick-ups, testing and equipment checks, repairs, vehicle inspections, etc.
Load and unload company vehicles with equipment and oxygen.
Operate non-commercial vehicles (<10,000lbs gvw="" and="" carrying="" a="" combination="" of="" oxygen="" less="" than="" 1,001="" lbs)="" carrying="" medical="" equipment="" and="" oxygen.="">
Perform daily vehicle inspections and check for gasoline, oil and fluid levels, tire pressure, and brakes.
May be required to clean, disinfect and assist with equipment repairs.
May be required to work after-hours and on an on-call basis.
Successfully complete all required safe driving programs, abide by applicable motor vehicle laws and ordinances, and demonstrate safe driving practices at all times throughout employment.
Maintain valid licenses and endorsements required for the position.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required.
At least 1 year of related experience is required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

Valid Non-Commercial Driver's License (e.g., Class C) in the state where the employee works

VIEW JOBS Position Summary: The Delivery Driver - Trainee will learn to and gain experience to drive a tractor trailer and/or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes for the purpose of delivering and/or unloading various food and food related products to customers in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Routes may be local, over the road (OTR), shuttles and/or overnight. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company. Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: * Internal candidates will attend and successfully complete the PFG Driver Trainee Dock to Driver Training Program as required. * Perform "pre-trip safety check" inspection of truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspect cab and trailer to insure they meet company quality standards and take appropriate action as needed. * Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded. Check and complete in an accurate and in legible fashion all the required paperwork associated with freight. Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed. * Rides-with, assists with deliveries as required. Drive to and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route and delivery schedule. * Unload products from the trailer transport items into designated customer storage areas. Perform damage control checks on items and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy. Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures. Collect money (cash or checks) where required. Load customer returns on to trailer and secure trailer doors. * Unload damaged goods and customer returns at the driver check-in dock and complete necessary paperwork. Unload pallets, insulated blankets, Power Walker / Hand carts and remove trash from trailers as required. * Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state and company requirements. * Perform "post trip safety check" on the vehicle, secure tractor and trailer and / or "Red Tag" for repair or maintenance as needed. Perform general housekeeping duties in cab, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required. At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork. * Performs other related duties as assigned. VIEW JOBS Position Title: Delivery Driver (CDL A or B) * Based out of our Houston, Texas location Airgas operates a modern and efficient fleet. Most vehicles are under six years old and equipped with driver-friendly technology, such as On-Board Computers, collision avoidance technology, the latest camera technology, and GPS navigation. How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? As the "face of Airgas," the Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck. The Delivery Driver loads unloads, delivers, and returns compressed gas cylinders while frequently interacting with Airgas customers. In particular, you will: * Safely load, deliver and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to customer locations. Deliver compressed gas cylinders to external and internal customer sites. * Record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest and obtain signatures from customers for receipt purposes. Collect empty cylinders or rejected or unsold merchandise. Return empty cylinders to either a plant or branch location for refilling. * Comply with Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and all government regulations including, but not limited to, those issued by the Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). * Work in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.
