This position will be a combination of working from home and from our office in Princeton, NJ.
Responsibilities
The Co-op will work as a member of a team of engineers supporting the development of our Intelligent Systems and the integration of our systems into airborne, naval, and ground systems.
Software engineering responsibilities include design, development, simulate, analysis, testing and debugging of computer software and firmware applications and/or systems. Other responsibilities may include development with real-time operating systems, database design, operator/machine Interface, networks, and others. Candidates must be capable of determining hardware compatibility, completing documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance, and interacting with stakeholders to define system requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems
May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments
Regular reporting of progress and status
Completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements
Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction develops designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
Develop prototypes to retire key development risks as directed
Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
May participate in preparation of less complex proposals
Qualifications
Current Drexel University student actively working to complete a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
Due to government requirements candidate must be a US Citizen
Demonstrates working knowledge a high level object oriented language such as C++, Java, or C#
Understanding of OOA/OOD Software SolutionsOperating system concepts, and computer architecture knowledge
Practical Knowledge of UML design tools
Will only consider candidates local to the area
Desired Knowledge:
Familiar with Windows Visual Studio
Familiar with multi-threaded, and IP socket programming techniques
Good technical writing skills in support of task documentation
Understanding of LINUX, Android and Windows Operating Systems
Familiar with MatLabFamiliar with Eclipse Integrated Development Environment
The salary range is: $20-$27/hr. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
