Dredge Operator

Summary

Responsible for operating the plant while maximizing material production and minimizing plant interruptions and/or breakdowns. Increasing level of responsibility per job grade as indicated below.

Essential Accountabilities:

• Operates plant

• Maintains and exceeds quality control standards

• Performs basic maintenance activities including greasing& lubricating plant components

• Performs various ongoing housekeeping responsibilities

• Assists with maintenance activities per Plant Manager instructions

• Complies with all Safety, Health, Environmental and other Company policies, procedures, and requirements

• Performs other duties as instructed by supervisor

Job Grade Specific Duties/ Skills:

In addition to meeting all essential accountabilities:

Operate aggregates primary plant

Sand plant maintenance (preventative)

Ship off-load system trainee

Load & unload rail cars (rail terminal)

DOT sample technician

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience: Two (2) years experience in the construction/mining/concrete industry preferred

License: Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must be able to perform repetitive work on a continuous basis. Must have strong working knowledge of process control systems.

Must be mechanically inclined and have ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems in relation to plant operations. Must have ability to effectively communicate in English, including reading and writing.

Working Conditions:

This position requires knowledge and awareness of construction and industrial sites. Protective gear will be required where appropriate.

Position requires ability to work at multiple sites dependent on business needs. Must be willing to work a rotating schedule with varying shifts and must be punctual in adhering to established start times.
