As a scalable DRAM & Verification Engineer at Micron Technology Inc., you will work with a creative and highly motivated design and verification team using state of the art memory technologies to develop and verify the most advanced DRAM technology. You will be challenged by the complexity and difficulty of designing/verifying the high-density memory chip with complicated functionality, ultra-high speed, advanced low power and power management technology. In this position, you will have verification responsibilities with deep understanding of the design to fully evaluate the design at chip or block level on functionality, and provide solutions. You could work closely with Micron's global design teams and give to the success of our design team by applying verification tools, and techniques, providing verification status and summaries to specific designs as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

  • Participating in the development of digital/analog mix-signal verification methodology for advanced DRAM products, as well as design and implementation of mix-signal design verification environment

  • Complete understanding of design data sheet

  • Studying and learning the circuit design in detail. Understand the functionality and timing requirements of the circuitry

  • Developing patterns and regressions to increase the function coverage for all DRAM architectures and features

  • Providing support to design engineers, debug failures, handle bug tracking, and close coverage

  • Co-working with international colleagues on developing new verification tools and the flows to resolve the verification difficulties

  • Developing and maintain test benches and test vectors using digital and analog simulation tools

  • Building new methods and flows to guide DRAM chip design from verification view

  • Building a verification plan from functionality specification and in coordination with architects

  • Working with multi-functional group to define and develop DFT patterns

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience (Preferred) and strong work ethic and integrity

  • Fluency in verification languages (System Verilog or equivalent) and methodologies (UVM or equivalent), (Preferred)

  • Previous work experience in DRAM memory related fields (Preferred)

  • Experience with SV, SystemVerilog Assertion (SVA), VPI coding and UVM Test Bench (Preferred)

  • Experience defining coverage strategy and writing coverage model (Preferred)

  • Strong communication with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to other verification peers and ability to work well in a team

  • Fundamental understanding of CMOS circuit design (Preferred)

  • Familiar with analog/digital simulation tools, ie. HSPICE, Verilog HDL, FINESIM

  • Good debugging and analytical skills

As a DRAM Engineering Group (DEG) Design Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for designing and analyzing digital and analog circuits used in the development of memory products. This includes simulating, optimizing, and floor planning DRAM circuits. In this position, you will work and support the efforts of groups such as Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly and Marketing to proactively design products that optimize all manufacturing functions and assure the best cost, quality, reliability, time-to-market, and customer satisfaction. Your Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Contribute to the Development of New Memory Products by Assisting with the Overall Design, Layout, and Optimization of Memory Circuits: * Assist in the design and development of DRAM circuit schematics * Participate in new circuit conception and design * Perform circuit simulations using standard industry simulators * Analyze circuit speed and power performance * Evaluate transistor model performance targets * Analyze circuit reliability * Interpret device specifications and implement in the design * Layout floor-planning including place and routing optimization * Assist in standard cell development * Optimize layout design for size, performance, and functionality * Evaluate circuit performance with layout parasitics included. * Design analysis of various array circuits such as wordline and digitline lengths, sense amplifiers, row decoders, and data path logic. * Choose appropriate transistor sizes and types for pitch cells for optimal layout size while meeting performance and reliability requirements. * Perform schematic versus layout verification on required circuits * Simulate full regression analysis of functionality using Verilog and Finesim. * Compare silicon measured data to simulated data. * Assist in silicon design validation, reticle experiments, and tape-out revisions as needed * Aid in communicating best-known practices to other groups * Prepare detailed documentation about the design * Participate in design reviews Successful candidates for this position will have: * A Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience OR a Master's degree with 2 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline * Proven knowledge of CMOS logic design, analog circuit design, and device physics. * Hands-on experience with Verilog modeling and simulation tools. * Knowledge and experience in Finesim and/or Hspice * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills * An ambitious, hardworking teammate who enjoys working with others * Good communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to other design peers in verbal and written form The following skills are preferred but not required: * Experience in RTL design, design synthesis, static timing analysis, and automated layout techniques * Experience using Design Compiler and IC Compiler software * Experience with power network analysis * Experience with a scripting language (Python, Tcl, Perl, etc) All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
