STARTING SALARY: $19.05/hour
STATUS: Regular (benefitted)
DEPARTMENT: Public Utilities
SUMMARY: Under the general supervision and direction of the Drainage Supervisor and Drainage Crew Leader, performs general maintenance and labor work pertaining to the operations and maintenance of irrigation, and flood control systems.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent education preferred. Must possess a valid Utah Driver's License; must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License within one year of hire; must obtain a UT State Flagman's Certification within two years of hire; must be certified by the department on all assigned crew equipment within two years of hire. Knowledge of tools and small equipment used in the operation, maintenance, and construction of irrigation or storm water systems helpful. A one-year probationary period is a prerequisite to this position. Moderate responsibility for the care, condition, and use of materials, equipment, and tools. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Tool, Machine, Equipment Operation: Regular use of hand tools. Limited use of pickup trucks. Prioritize tasks; establish effective working relationships with employees and the public. Able to perform basic operations with little or no supervision.
