Overview
This $1.2 Billion project represents the design/build improvement of 16 miles of the existing I-405 freeway beginning at SR73 to I-605 of I-405. This project is managed jointly by the US construction firms OHL North America and Astaldi Construction Corporation, fully supported by our international parent companies, collaborating to form the joint venture OC 405 Partners established to improve infrastructure in Orange County, California.
OHL North America and Astaldi Construction Corporation are involved in infrastructure construction and management projects throughout North America.
The Project Engineer is responsible for working closely with Segment Managers and oversite of Office and Field Engineers, Superintendents, Foremen and Crews on Project Deliverables
Responsibilities
Oversite Responsibilities
Process/manage material deliveries - ensure that materials received are properly inspected for quantity and quality and are in compliance with contract documents.
Coordinate and schedule shop drawings and submittals.
Maintain a complete and current record of submittals, approvals and resubmittals, including a file of letters of transmittal and dates of each transaction.
Accumulate all necessary data and prepare monthly pay estimates.
General Responsibilities
Manage and negotiate subcontractor and material contracts.
Assist in developing and updating the project schedule.
High level of involvement in the operations of our cost control system and analysis of construction costs.
Participate in monthly forecasting revenue and cost accruals.
Process and estimate change orders and requests for information as directed by the Project Manager.
Follows OHL North America policies and procedures, including safety policies.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Heavy Civil Construction background with minimum 8 year's Engineer and/or Project Management experience.
Must be safety oriented - 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA certificates are preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong work ethic - willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
Ability to function as a team builder/player.
The ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
Caltrans experience strongly preferred.
Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) training a plus.
Experience performing construction layouts a plus.
