The Experiment Design Department at INL is seeking a Drafter/Designer to apply skilled, multi-disciplined CAD drafting skills and techniques to prepare new drawings and drawing changes in support of irradiation experiment designs and related hardware.
The Experiment Design Department designs unique irradiation experiments for test reactors at the INL. The mission for these experiments varies from nuclear fuel development, material investigation, and physics investigation. Nuclear experimentation and material demonstration is key to designing the next generation reactors and supporting irradiation testing on an international scale.
Perform as a member of an integrated project team.
Determining necessary dimensions, tolerances, and design specifications required on prepared detailed drawings.
Apply skilled, multi-disciplined CAD drafting skills and techniques to prepare new drawings and drawing changes in support of irradiation experiment designs and related hardware.
Vocational/Drafting Certificate or Associates Degree in Drafting Technologies is required.
Knowledge of drafting techniques (i.e. orthographic projection and dimensioning).
Must be able to work in a culturally diverse environment.
Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is preferred.
Knowledge of engineering file management systems is preferred.
Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) "L" security clearance.
