Drafter Specialist Engineering

JOB DUTIES

• Continually: Communicate with employees and management about processes and procedures including possible options for process improvement.

• Continually: Review drawings and other documents for errors or omissions and find solutions to remedy the problem(s).

• Frequently: Identify, coordinate, and implement facility repairs and upgrades. Initiate and monitor these repairs to maximize facility availability and minimize costs.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

• Coordinate the CSRM Document Locator system. Responsible for updating, documents based on input from the Engineering Manager and the various Maintenance Superintendents.

• Responsible for updating, modifying, adding, and removing files, drawings, and documents into the drawing database according to the internal procedures.

• Drafting: Draw, modify, and coordinate the update of various drawings, as directed by the Engineering Manager or the various Maintenance Superintendents. This will typically be 2-dimensional AutoCAD drawings (2D CAD) but could be expanded in the future to 3D drawings or other software packages.

• Maintain the door-office key distribution for all facilities.

• Responsible for uploading and following up the requisitions for the Engineering Department and Facilities as needed for the business systems (oracle, etc.)

• Participate, coordinate, and organize pending actions related to the company Insurance to ensure compliance.

• Responsible for upload the periodic testing reports into the Engineering SharePoint for CSRM facilities including Alarm systems, Backflow Testing, Pressure Vessels, Hydrant testing, Sprinkler Systems, etc. in coordination with the CSRM maintenance department.

• Participate and coordinate the activities related to the Fixed Asset Physical Audit.

• Responsible for monitoring and presenting the training statistics for the Engineering department (LSO, pending actions, missing training, etc.) during the department meetings.

• Responsible for weekly updates of the Capital Project PO report for the Engineering Department.

• Act as the Engineering Department representative to various functions and perform various support activities for the Engineering Department or other CSRM departments as directed by the Engineering Project Manager.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Climbing: Frequently. Ascending or descending stairs on a daily basis

• Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching: Frequently. When needing to access supplies or equipment or to work on systems or software.

• Standing/Walking: Frequently. On a daily basis, within the office building, as well as outside or within the manufacturing plant.

• Reaching: Frequently. To retrieve supplies, equipment, or files/paperwork as well as to design or install new equipment.

• Pushing/Pulling/Lifting: Occasionally. To access equipment and drawings, mostly within the office environment.

• Grasping: Frequently. To move or access supplies or equipment, to write, or to operate hand or other tools.

• Repetitive Motions of the hands/wrists/fingers: Continually. To perform office duties such as keyboarding, 10-key, telephone dialing, filing of documentation, or operations of copier/fax machine.

• Sitting: Frequently. Some job duties such as CAD work can be performed while sitting.

USE OF SENSES

• Talking in Person/By Telephone or Two Way Radio: Continually. Communicate with co-workers or supervisors to gather information or to give direction.

• Hearing: Continually. To listen, in person and over the phone or two-way radio, and to understand despite a potentially loud environment. Ability to detect equipment malfunction or irregularities in tools or machinery.

• Vision: Continually. To read either paperwork or information on a computer monitor. Good visual acuity is necessary for safety reasons in a warehouse and manufacturing environment and essential to the ability to perform the duties of the job.

• Smell: Continually. To detect irregularities or hazards such as gas, fire, smoke, or fumes.

• Touch: Continually. To use tools, equipment, parts, and materials to perform the duties of the job. To enter or retrieve data from a computer.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Drafting associate degree or equivalent education and experience.

• Experience with 2D and 3D Drawings (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).

• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

• Desirable: Proficient interpreting mechanical, electrical, civil drawings and P&ID.

• Good interpersonal skills including communication, good attitude at work, able to handle multiple tasks, and team player.
