GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Provide project management and design capabilities for Product Management. Assist Product Manager in the development of production and operation cost data, product costing/pricing, sales tools, training materials, etc.


  • Learn about aggregate industry, equipment, processes and what adds value to customers operations.

  • Assist in preparing new product proposals and conceptual designs that clearly define new equipment configuration, intended application, prototype tests programs, cost and sales targets.

  • Assist the marketing group with creation, maintenance and organization of sales tools and market research.

  • Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand requirements.

  • Contribute to product managements effectiveness by identifying short term and long range issues that must be addressed; recommend options and courses of action; implement directives

  • Participate in and lead focus groups as required

  • Maintain open and effective communications with management, sales & marketing, engineering, service, manufacturing departments, vendors, and customers.

  • Research competitive information and maintain database

  • Conduct production and application tests to gather empirical data

  • Attend and/or present at trade shows and other product demonstrations

  • Assist with post sale follow-up.

  • Assist in the development of training information, programs, and sales tools to transfer equipment and applications knowledge to JCI staff and other appropriate management within KPI-JCI & Astec Mobile Screens group, dealer personnel and customers.

  • Assist in gathering information to communicate with engineering, production, and service in areas of improved equipment design and cost reduction based on customer needs, equipment performance and competitive features.

  • Other office duties as necessary


  • Minimum two-year degree in Mechanical Design/Drafting, or Engineering Technology.

  • AutoCAD/Inventor (or comparable software) knowledge and experience with 3D design software required. Must be experienced in Microsoft Office software.

  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret scientific/technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.

  • Must have strong communication skills and ability to interact with both internal and external customers in a professional manner.

  • Must have the ability to make presentations to small and large groups.

  • Required to visit construction, quarry and industrial sites with exposure to dust, noise and weather elements; must be physically able to climb ladders and stairways to access equipment.

  • Willing to travel worldwide by air and auto as required (+- 12 weeks per year), have valid driver license, be able to obtain a passport and must have the financial means to travel when required.

The Global Market Development Manager (GMD) will develop and execute marketing programs for the protein identification and quantitation systems using a multi-channel go-to-market strategy focus. This experienced, dynamic manager will be a key member of the Protein and Cell Analysis Global Market Development team. This role is responsible for working with a broad team, including regional and business counterparts, to develop global go-to-market strategies and integrated multi-channel marketing plans to then execute on tactical projects to achieve KPI and revenue targets and other annual operating plan objectives. What will you do? * Develop strategic marketing plans for protein identification and quantitation portfolios, including analysis of customer segments, competitor analysis, business trends, and market opportunities. * Develop and execute engaging, bold tactical marketing plans for new and/or existing portfolio products including those for mass spectrometry reagents, Luminex assays, and gene expression reagent systems. * Drive demand generation for these portfolios delivering and evaluating the quality of marketing qualified leads to the technical sales specialist team * Develop customer personas for each portfolio segment and implement a customer segmentation program to build global audiences. * Create and implement appropriate technical marketing content across digital channels, including web, video, social media, paid search and display advertising. * Develop sales force selling tools, technical training, and customer facing materials in collaboration with product management, R&D, and commercial teams. * Act as a brand ambassador, understanding, upholding, and communicating our multi-brand strategy in all aspects of our marketing programs. * Coordinate with global functions to ensure consistency with brand profiles and company standards. * Interact with varying levels of internal and external personnel including direct customer communication, public presentation, and a team-focused approach. * Work closely with regional marketing development managers to build and execute marketing programs within their regions. * May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned. How will you get here? Education * Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry or related discipline. * Masters of Science and/or Ph.D. in life sciences discipline preferred. Experience * 5+ years of experience developing a marketing strategy and successfully implementing marketing plans for highly technical reagent platforms requiring a complex selling approach * Technical knowledge in the mass spectrometry, Luminex assays, and gene expression markets * Experience with product area marketing plans, general knowledge of operating plans or industry practices for promoting and selling similar products. * Experience writing technical scientific content with the ability to develop messaging for sales and customer-facing materials. * Experience with marketing and voice of customer VOC. * Travel is required.
