Due to company growth, we are actively seeking a Drafter to join our team in Connecticut. The individual will support the Transmission Line & Civil Engineering Department with both drafting and design support including the management of drawings, and standardized BOMs.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist in the development or modification of detailed designs using conventional or computer-aided techniques for incorporation on engineering drawings to support Transmission Line & Civil Engineering
Receive direction from Engineering staff to assist in developing detailed design criteria and final design projects in a timely and efficient manner.
Assist in the preparation of conceptual designs and sketches based on field survey, project instructions, and engineering criteria supplied by project/discipline engineers, field or Drafting personnel.
Assist in the development of design/drafting standards in accordance with industry and regulatory standards.
Assist in providing drafting and design services to Engineering, Operations, and field upon request to assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local license or planning boards submittals and other special assignments.
Identify, retrieve, and file drawings or documents associated with specific assignments and in accordance with the guidelines of the Document Control System.
Assist in the development or updating of indices, lists, schedules, or databases as necessary.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
Associate Degree in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) Technology with a specialization in Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical, Survey or Land Management Technology
OR the equivalent in combined education and directly related experience is required
Knowledge of AutoCAD and ability to learn and utilize software in the generation of design drawings.
Have excellent interpersonal communication skills and technical writing ability
