The Drafter position is based out of our Dallas office located at <\ pan=""><\ ont="">2350 Airport Freeway, Suite 400 Bedford, TX 76022.

The Drafter I will perform drafting duties using basic drafting skills and techniques for high voltage substations or transmission line drawings. Assignments will be closely supervised and are designed to develop the employee's understanding of drafting techniques, corporate standards and procedures. Drafters will either be dedicated to Electrical or Civil design projects.<\ pan=""><\ ont="">

Duties & Responsibilities:<\ trong=""><\ pan=""><\ 3="">

Employee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:<\ pan="">

  • Revise drawings per markups<\ i="">

\t

  • Perform engineering support tasks under close supervision<\ i="">

\t

  • Learn and apply the corporate standard of drafting and engineering practices<\ i="">

\t

  • Learn and properly use the document management system<\ i="">

\t

  • Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of his/her work<\ i="">

\t

  • Bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the responsible party<\ i="">

\t

  • Travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments<\ i="">

\t

  • Other duties as required<\ i="">

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:<\ trong="">
Associates degree in drafting & design is required. A certificate in drafting & design with relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of an Associates degree. Experience with AutoCAD 2010 or newer is required. Experience with Microstation is a plus.
Possess skills in the following areas:<\ pan="">

\t

  • Drafting, including scales, drawing layout, lettering, and a high degree of accuracy in copying<\ i="">

\t

  • High school level mathematics<\ i="">

\t

  • Experience with MS Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word<\ i="">

\t

  • Working in a team environment<\ i="">

\t

  • Communicating effectively with co-workers<\ i="">

Freeman is seeking a Design Drafter - 3D Detailer who will be responsible for creating detailed production drawings and helping to develop efficient and cost effective production techniques. The Design Drafter - 3D Detailer will work closely with production to collaborate on best practices for delivery of effective drawings and CNC router files as needed. Additional duties include: * Engineers and creates production-ready construction drawings of custom trade show components. * Creates CNC ready toolpaths for producing trade show components. * Creates and updates setup prints per clients' properties for all shows including electrical and telecommunications layouts, elevations, isometric views and booth orientation on the show hall floor. * Stays current with the latest production techniques and material. * Attends local production meetings regularly to stay current with and recommend new processes to increase efficiencies. Suggests solutions to production challenges. * Brings concerns to the attention of Detailing Manager to initiate pre- and post-cons. * Keeps a library of 'standard' components, specific to custom trade show construction. * Collaborates with Sales, Project Manager, Operations, Designers, Graphics and all Production departments throughout Detailing process. * Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS * Demonstrated extensive proficiency in the use of AutoCAD 2014 or higher (AutoCAD Certification preferred.) * Recent experience in Detailing and/or Drafting and 3D Modeling. * Ability to focus on details & comprehensive BOM's. * Extensive knowledge of custom trade show production techniques (custom cabinetry acceptable.) * CNC Router knowledge (Toolpath creation, programming and tooling knowledge) * Proven communication skills. * Demonstrated attention to deadlines.
