This is a 10-month position (paid over 12 months) with full state benefits, working 40 hours per week, Sunday through Thursday, during the overnight hours.
The beginning date for this position is July 2024. We are flexible if you are. If you wish to start upon completion of an adequate background and are willing to work in other capacities. We can start you earlier. We have various other duties that can be completed on our farm, painting, filing, grounds etc. Then at the start of the school year, you will begin your 10-month employment status in this position.
Job Duties
Provide continuous supervision to ensure student safety by making continuous rounds and bed checks
Supervise morning activities and provide a positive role model for students
Implement goals and objectives of the Individualized Education Program
Provides personal care for students and assist with personal hygiene practices
Assist student with individual school activities and programs of individual student interest
Implement student Behavior Intervention Plans and adhere to behavior management policies and procedures
Evaluate student progress and accurately record information that measures progress towards completion of goals and objectives
Provide accurate written reports/logs of activities and incidents with students
Support educational program activities such as making bulletin boards, materials for recreational projects, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate
Current CPR and First Aid certification is required or must be obtained in accordance with school policies
Valid Driver's License with driving record that reflects a sense of responsibility for highway and passenger safety or ability to obtain following DMV guidelines
Skill in behavior management or willingness to attend training to acquire these techniques
Ability to work independently and follow school policies and procedures
Proficiency level of "Intermediate" in American Sign Language as measured by the Sign Language Proficiency Scale or agreement to acquire the specified level within three years
Additional Considerations
Ability to interact with individuals in a patient, positive and sensitive manner in order to provide for their direct care and development
Ability to carry out instructional, personal care and support tasks, and to plan and implement activity programs for individuals with sensory impairment, intellectual disabilities or severe disabilities
Sufficient life and work experience to demonstrate an ability to maintain a stable environment and to provide guidance to children in the age range for which the employee will be responsible
Ability to work with students with behavioral difficulties and acute medical needs
Prior experience in human services, education or a residential setting
