Description

Mill Creek Lumber and Supply Company is a leading provider of lumber and building materials, serving the construction industry since 1934. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality products and exceptional customer service. As we continue to expand our operations, we are adding a Door/Mill Work Product Manager to our team. As a Product Manager, you will serve as a product specialist assigned to a specific product or group of products, typically having responsibility for an assigned geographical area (sales district or region). This role has extensive knowledge, typically technical, depth and experience within assigned product group. Works closely with outside and inside sales representatives to support their customer base. Assists outside and inside sales representatives in all aspects of the sales process for assigned product group to include identifying new opportunities; developing sales solutions; closing sales opportunities; negotiating pricing; providing outstanding customer service and follow-up.

Responsibilities:

• Understands the company's vision, mission, and strategy; understands business unit objectives and sets/accomplishes individual performance goals accordingly.

• Develops sales solutions and competitive pricing strategies for assigned product(s).

• Communicates value proposition to customers. Propose sales solutions to customers and reevaluate solutions where necessary (may work individually or in conjunction with sales representatives).

• Identify new sales opportunities with new and existing customers for assigned product(s).

• Provides product selection, product information, and pricing. Answers inventory and pricing questions for customers and sales.

• Improves profitability, product penetration, product mix, and inventory turns with all customers for assigned product(s).

• Negotiates prices, provides market updates, prospects, evaluating current and potential sales.

• May be responsible for selling large volumes of assigned product to targeted accounts in geographical area.

• Ensures effective product performance and promotes good customer/supplier relations.

• Assists all customers with sales and technical support for assigned products.

• Responsible for resolving all customer service issues related to assigned product.

• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 5-7 Years of proven experience as a Door and/or Mill Work Product Manager or similar role, preferably in the building materials or construction industry.

• Knowledge of building materials, construction products, pricing, sales forecasting and market analysis.

• Possesses well-developed consultative selling skills, negotiation and communication skills

• Inventory management.

• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and market trends to make informed decisions.

• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners.

• Creative problem-solving abilities to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities.

• Demonstrated ability to drive results and achieve product-related objectives.

• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant sales systems technology.
