Basic Function
The Donor Relations and Stewardship Coordinator supports initiatives to inspire donor relations throughout the continuum of the donor experience. This position is an integral contributor to Denison's philanthropic priorities. The coordinator assists with gift stewardship, events, reporting, and communications that enhance the donor experience and promote engagement and connection with donors at all levels.
Essential Job Functions
Assist with producing timely and impactful stewardship correspondence and materials.
Support the weekly gift acknowledgment letter program for gifts to Denison. Responsible for reviewing, proofreading, and sending all letters.
Assist with honor/memorial acknowledgment letters.
Work with the Annual Fund office to administer an annual stewardship program, which honors donors based on their level of giving.
Coordinate a legacy program that will thank donors for continued giving to the college.
Master Emma and Thankview software programs to deliver custom correspondence to donors and work creatively to craft impactful video messages.
Responsible for database entries of stewardship actions.
Collaborate with university partners to highlight the impact of donor gifts.
Assist with donor, campus, and student events representing the mission of Institutional Advancement.
Work with the Associate Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship on the student thank you note process.
Work closely with the Office of Planned Giving to ensure the timely delivery of correspondence.
Remain current on best practices in donor relations and stewardship.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience in stewardship, fundraising, or a related field. High level of professionalism and the ability to work collaboratively with various audiences, including faculty, students, advancement colleagues, university staff, and donors. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to think both creatively and strategically about donor engagement. Highly skilled with Microsoft Office suite. Strong organizational skills to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects. Careful attention to detail. Flexible, positive attitude and ability to work independently and as a team member.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's degree is preferred.
