PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Under administrative direction, responsible for increasing awareness of, and participation in, the Marrow program and Be The Match Registry. Educates and recruits donors, plans drive events collaborating with a variety of community contacts, and facilitates and coordinates donor testing for members once identified as a preliminary match. Provides support to Marrow program daily operations and ensures optimal customer service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.Assures quality customer service to all customers.Maintains good attendance and punctuality per the absence policy.Educates and recruits new marrow donors for the Be The Match Registry.Manages the donor recruitment drives. Responsible for all funding issues pertaining to the fund raising goal of the Registry.Provides Patient Advocacy services.Responsible for collecting donor consent forms and tissue samples for entry by Be The Match Member Registration Department.Schedules the DR and High Resolution testing phase for donors according to National Marrow program (NMDP) standards

Schedules the Confirmatory Typing testing phase for donors according to the National Marrow program standards

Supports recruitment of various blood product donations.Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge/Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Licenses/ Certifications

Experience

Experience in working with the public, public speaking, and fundraising required.

Skills/Abilities

  • Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

  • Bilingual preferred.

  • Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

  • Knowledge of bone marrow transplant or medical background/experience.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Effective public speaking and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work well with people and work independently.

  • Available to work weekends and evenings.
