Paid in 3 increments 30 days, 90 days, and 12 months

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for supervising the daily activity and workflow of the Community Donor Center or Community Blood Driver Operations. Supervises employees at multiple sites and/or reporting locations. Ensures that processes developed by Training and Quality are implemented by center staff. Assures all staff is up-to-date in training and proficient in daily job function and that expenditures remain within budget as outlined by management. Responsible for hiring of staff and sustaining proficiency in technical skills by working as line staff when needed and as management goals require.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.

  • Assures quality customer service to all customers.

  • Maintains good attendance and punctuality per the absence policy.

  • Performs all aspects of supervisor responsibilities.

  • Ensures organization's human resource policies are supported.

  • Responsible for monitoring work place safety issues.

  • Responsible for day to day management of Community Donor Center and/or Community Blood Drive Operations.

  • Ensures quality system is supported in operations.

  • Performs all aspects for donor Alyx apheresis collections.

  • Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge/Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Licenses/ Certifications

None.

Experience

  • Supervisory experience is required.

  • Experience in healthcare environment preferred.

  • Computer knowledge required.

  • Ability to see the full color spectrum preferred.

Skills/Abilities

  • Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively deal with staff, donor and department issues.

  • Analytical skills to problem solve.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to read, write and speak fluent English.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.

  • Knowledge of blood center operations helpful.

Maintain a high donor retention rate by practicing excellent customer service techniques and technical skills. Determines the eligibility of all prospective donors based upon the evaluation of the health history and physical findings. Accepts and defers donors appropriately based on applicable SOPs. Documentation is neat and legible. Performs the phlebotomy and associated tasks as per applicable SOPs. Takes initiative to demonstrate the ability to process donors in a timely manner, utilizing the bed set up specified by management. Seeks assistance when deemed appropriate. Performs all quality control work processes. Accurately completes all associated documents in accordance with SOPs. Attempts to reschedule all donors. Recruits and converts donors for automated procedures when applicable. Demonstrates commitment and support to achieve company goals. Exceeds customer service expectations by providing a high degree of customer service to all contacts in support of the ITxM Mission. Displays awareness of donor perception. Uses appropriate topics of conversation to engage the donor. Refrains from negative topics of discussion. Works positively and respectfully with co-workers, supervisors and manager, exhibiting a commitment to teamwork. Displays an awareness of and sensitivity to cultural diversity. Donor Coach Only. Responsibilities include preparing the bus (load/unload), safely driving, parking, delivery of products to the manufacturing area and all other actions needed for donor coach operation. Maintain current CDL. Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge/Education High school education or equivalent (G.E.D) is required. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Maintains current CPR training is required. Licenses/ Certifications Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Phlebotomy certification required OR six (6) months of Phlebotomy experience required. Donor Coach Only- Valid, verifiable CDL required with clean driving record or qualified and willing to obtain CDL within six (6) months of employment required. Maintain a valid state driver's license is required. Experience Phlebotomy experience required. One year customer service experience preferred. Skills/Abilities Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Ability to perform phlebotomy.
