You will collaborate with other key members of the DHL team to further enhance the customer experience while ensuring we have a strong strategy to grow market share across the territory.

How will you contribute to the success of DHL?

The Sales Leader for the domestic product executes DHL Global Forwarding country commercial growth strategy in specific assigned markets. You will perform market analysis for the Domestic Product to determine where opportunities exist. You will manage and lead a group of domestic Business Development Executives pertaining to the Domestic product sales. You will also be responsible for:

  • Support, plan, and drive performance targets for the Domestic sales team

  • Take an active role in the support, development, and coaching of the Domestic sales team (7 direct reports)

  • Support and facilitate sales skills/process training relevant to the Domestic sales channel

  • Direct involvement with department staffing, discipline, reviews, training and leadership in partnership with the local branch manager and other Sales Leaders

  • Liaise with the Country Head of Domestic Product/Business Development to identify, prioritize, target and win Domestic 'Stand Alone' and independent opportunities

  • Ultimately, be the champion for growing Domestic business in the country

  • Manage and steer the performance of the Sales Team for Domestic growth

  • Act as a coach related to Domestic matters inside the Sales organization

  • Assist Domestic sales representatives in securing critical sales

  • Support global, multi-national, and Field Sales channels to close new business by analyzing importer directives and presenting solutions to not only meet existing requirements but also to enhance current business practices.

  • Perform market analysis for Domestic Product (performs competitor, customer and market research at country level)

  • Initiate development of the Domestic market demand by identifying opportunities and securing targeted business.

  • Work with Product to develop and deliver solution designs and implementation for customer requests

  • Drive country Domestic Business Development efforts and solutions

  • Interact with customers in alignment with Operations, leading negotiations and making presentations to external customers and the internal DGF organization

  • Attend customer appointments with Domestic Sales Teams

  • Liaise between Sales and Ops on RFQs

  • Target Domestic clients and provide solution design and implementation for strategic customer requests

If you want to be part of our Domestic Sales team, you should possess the following skills and qualifications to be of impact to the organization:

  • BS/BA or minimum 7-10 years experience in Domestic Transportation

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience including hiring, training, managing sales performance

  • Proven track record in selling the domestic solutions

  • Experience in dealing with National and Field Accounts

  • Ability to establish and conduct internal Domestic Sales training programs

  • Experience driving and supporting large Domestic RFP's

  • Microsoft Office experience with a strong focus on PowerPoint and Excel

  • Must have exemplary presentation skills

The individual will have contact with clients, carriers and potential clients on a daily basis. He/she must be proactive in providing quality client service and have the ability to handle pressure and responsibility in a fast pace environment, in a timely and affective manner. The successful candidate must have good client service skill and handle dual task. Being proactive in providing quality client service is a must. Essential Job Functions * Prepare documentation, dock receipts, bills of lading, export declarations. * File SED's (Shippers Export Declarations) * Track and trace cargo as necessary to insure proper movement and delivery. * Provide accounting department with proper and correct billing information. * Communicate with clients regarding disposition of Freight (i.e. tracking & tracing, routing & dispatching, and rate quotations). * Communicate with vendors/suppliers regarding shipment dispatch, routing, pricing, and rates. * Communicate & correspond with other Company branches and agents for client satisfaction, and ensure excellent service execution. * Seek the most profitable mode of shipment, yet meet client's requirement for the movement of freight. Other Skills & Abilities * Knowledge of the Import/Export industry preferred. * Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate (verbally and intuitively) effectively with both clients and internal personnel. * The ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Must be career-oriented, hard-working, quick learner and have excellent recall for past events/situations/numbers. * Strong knowledge of personal computers Education & Experience * High School Diploma or GED required. * Minimum 4 years related experience. * Minimum 3 years industry experience preferred. Certifications & Licenses * Professional certification may be required in some areas.
