SUMMARY

The Dolby Content Relations team is seeking the next generation of passionate individuals to assume an

active role in inspiring immersive content creation with Dolby Atmos. This internship will focus on

supporting a variety of projects and initiatives across the development and execution of a relatively new

facet of Dolby's content relations strategy. Audio-first storytelling has become a fast-growing segment

of Dolby Atmos. The Content Relations team is looking for an individual who can understand, create and

execute sound design examples appropriate for several types of podcast genres, including but not

limited to true crime, comedy, meditation and interview style. The role will require understanding the

Dolby Atmos value proposition and assisting in creation of slides and demonstration materials to help

educate various levels of creatives from experienced multi-channel production experts to self-taught

stereo mixers.

The ideal candidate for this role follows the latest content trends and has an interest in the evolution of

the entertainment industry. Proficiency in audio mixing on one or more audio workstations is required.

This role will require familiarity with creating audio for stereo, multi-channel, and ultimately learning

Dolby Atmos object-based mixing. Mix designs will be across multiple podcast genre types for creative

education purposes and showcasing Dolby's value to the creative community. A candidate with an

enthusiasm for TV, film and/or podcast content is preferred, but not a must. An openness to learn

about Dolby workflows is a must.

The right person for this role must demonstrate an ability to think holistically, be detail-oriented, and

consider all aspects of the task or responsibility they've been given. Professionalism is critical as Dolby

often collaborates with well-known industry creatives. Collaboration and communication skills are

critical, as the team's success is hinged on our ability to work with internal cross functional teams to

achieve our goals.

This role will focus on:

  • Build an understanding of Dolby Atmos technology and how it applies to different categories in

entertainment (with an emphasis on podcasts) across devices. Identify creative new ways to use

immersive sound design in podcasts

  • Build on existing knowledge with Dolby and Partner education materials to become well-versed

in Dolby Atmos mixing

  • Ability to demonstrate the correct process for setting up Dolby Atmos project session in Avid

ProTools, DaVinci Resolve and/or Apple Logic Pro

  • Create demonstration in one or more digital audio workstations to showcase how to create

immersive mixes in an unexpected podcast genre type, such as comedy, news, talking-head

styles

  • Support pro-active internal communication between this group and regional podcast teams,

Commercial Partnerships, and Marketing

  • Help drive specific projects and podcast creator-driven initiatives for Dolby Atmos podcasts

  • Help on-boarding new creatives and further contribute and/or refine the right education

materials

  • Support entertainment industry events including virtual and in-person events

Qualifications

  • Working toward a bachelor's degree (or recent graduate) in Audio Production, Sound Design,

Creative Media Production, Recording, Mixing, Media and Film or similar

  • An eagerness to learn about Dolby technologies

  • Passion for content, and audio-first type experiences (podcasts)

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to represent Dolby in a professional manner and

interface at all levels both internally and externally

  • Ability to think and act strategically with good problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Ability to prioritize work, and to work to deadlines
