We are seeking experienced dog trainers to teach our group training classes and Day School. Responsibilities include curriculum development, leading group lessons, interacting with clients and potential clients on a regular basis. We also welcome less experienced dog lovers who are interested in pursuing a career in dog training through our apprentice training program.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Group Classes: Leading individual and group lessons for pet parents
Day School: Working with a team of trainers in a canine/training drop-off program
Keeping roster up to date
Keeping the training space tidy and organized.
Training employees and customers on proper dog handling techniques
Conducting potential customer consultations
Answering any/all dog training questions
Positively interacting with clients in person, via email/text/phone.
Minimum 1 year experience in a dog training or handling role.
Ability to teach multiple ages and levels
Knowledge of multiple training methods and equipment
Flexible approach to problem solving and trouble shooting
Ability to think and act quickly
Canine behavior knowledge
Excellent communication skills.
Must have a love for dogs and a keen sense for animal safety
Must be observant.
Position requires person to be both indoors and outdoors. Majority of day is spent standing, walking and bending.
Must Be Able To:
Stand and walk for long periods of time.
Work with small and large dogs.
Work around pet hair and dander.
Communicate with proper spelling and grammar via email/text.
Communicate with clients in a friendly, upbeat manner.
