As a Dog Trainer or Dog Trainer Apprentice with Petco, you will play an absolutely vital role in the Petco family. Within your store, you will be the primary resource and leader for Petco's Positive Dog Training program. You must be committed to and show a genuine interest in enhancing communication and teamwork between dog and pet parent by offering positive solutions and rewarding success while providing a fun and safe environment for dogs, pet parents and store partners.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a subject matter expert for Petco's Positive Dog Training Program, products, services and in-store promotions

  • Promoting, conducting and instructing all current dog training curricula

  • Be a genuine Petco ambassador who exemplifies the Petco culture and values in all communications and interactions.

  • Coaching, encouraging and motivating dogs and pet parents

  • Effectively deliver formal presentations

  • Achieve Dog Training goals by offering creative Training solutions

  • Strong ability to inspire and motivate self and others.

  • Assisting in the loading, unloading and stocking of merchandise

  • Ensuring that store animals receive the highest quality care and are maintained in clean, safe and secure habitats

  • Promoting established safety and loss prevention procedures

The ideal Dog Trainer candidate will have:

  • CPDT-KA or Karen Pryor Academy (KPA-CTP) certifications

  • Previous experience teaching positive reinforcement dog training techniques in group or class settings

  • Computer skills with the ability to quickly research information from the Internet

  • The ability to work during peak traffic periods during week days and weekend

Perform routine tests in medical laboratory to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Serve as primary trainer for all Lab staff hired in their market. * Review of Quality Control records for all assigned clinics * Perform Quality Assurance Review as assigned * Assist with the processing and review of Proficiency Testing and PT evaluation review * Assist the clinic management with data collection for lab staff competency assessments. * Serve as Technical Consultant when needed * Serve as a support resource for the laboratory * Provide first response laboratory troubleshooting as needed * Assist clinic in preparation for regulatory surveys * Be onsite for all regulatory surveys as needed * Assist with post regulatory survey response as needed * Perform daily start laboratory tasks. * Perform maintenance on equipment as needed * Maintain daily logs * Document all requests and results of lab work accurately * Perform phlebotomy techniques. * Inform physician of lab results; recognize abnormalities and notify physician * Order and stock supplies * Respond to all lab messages and call back requests; share responsibility of call back sheets * Maintain complete and accurate documentation of patient results, proficiency testing samples, all quality control activities, and instrument maintenance and calibrations. * Utilize lab software and other lab equipment according to the proper procedure and instruction. * Follow laboratory policies and document all corrective actions taken in the event test systems are not functioning at acceptable levels of performance. * Identify and correct or report to supervisor any problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results. * Collect specimen from the patient utilizing the approved equipment, sequence and procedure. * Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting and maintaining records of patient results. * Perform drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations. * Observe safety and security procedures; promote a safe and pleasant work environment. * Report potentially unsafe conditions to management. * Regular attendance to ensure efficient clinic operations Other Duties and Responsibilities * Responds promptly to customer needs; Responds to request for service and assistance * Treats people with respect, inspires the trust of others, works with integrity * Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Requirements * Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or natural sciences (chemical, physical, biological) and 2 years of lab training or experience in the non-waived specialty / subspecialty of service required.
