As a Dog Trainer or Dog Trainer Apprentice with Petco, you will play an absolutely vital role in the Petco family. Within your store, you will be the primary resource and leader for Petco's Positive Dog Training program. You must be committed to and show a genuine interest in enhancing communication and teamwork between dog and pet parent by offering positive solutions and rewarding success while providing a fun and safe environment for dogs, pet parents and store partners.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a subject matter expert for Petco's Positive Dog Training Program, products, services and in-store promotions

  • Promoting, conducting and instructing all current dog training curricula

  • Be a genuine Petco ambassador who exemplifies the Petco culture and values in all communications and interactions.

  • Coaching, encouraging and motivating dogs and pet parents

  • Effectively deliver formal presentations

  • Achieve Dog Training goals by offering creative Training solutions

  • Strong ability to inspire and motivate self and others.

  • Assisting in the loading, unloading and stocking of merchandise

  • Ensuring that store animals receive the highest quality care and are maintained in clean, safe and secure habitats

  • Promoting established safety and loss prevention procedures

The ideal Dog Trainer candidate will have:

  • CPDT-KA or Karen Pryor Academy (KPA-CTP) certifications

  • Previous experience teaching positive reinforcement dog training techniques in group or class settings

  • Computer skills with the ability to quickly research information from the Internet

  • The ability to work during peak traffic periods during week days and weekends

Position Overview The Product Trainer- Lead on the Commercial Process Improvement Team will ensure the success of internal and external facing processes and technologies though training and knowledge development. This includes planning, management and execution of various training and communication strategies for new and existing products. The Product Trainer-Lead is also required to analyze areas of the Commercial Lending process for potential development opportunities. The Product Trainer-Lead must have the discipline to create clear and attainable objectives and to see them through to successful completion. Role and Responsibilities * Responsible for successful implementation of training and communications plans * Consult with loan origination system team, IT, commercial operations, sales teams, marketing and compliance to determine training needs and then develop content * Analyze system releases and participate in project meetings to identify training needs and opportunities * Determine compliance/product needs and create training and communication plans for Product and System launches * Review regulations and create appropriate training material and Job aids to ensure compliance * Lead and participate in meetings when necessary to review implementation, communications, marketing, and training Plans with all levels of management * Deliver high quality live and recorded training sessions to Bank associates * Analyze the performance of processes, technologies, products, and compliance for training opportunities * Prepare internal/external formalized announcements pertaining to training * Create, prepare and/or assist with all job aids and procedures for commercial operations * Maintain tracking and storage of all training materials * Ensure department(s) adherence to policy and procedures * Maintain appropriate communications within area of responsibility * Special Projects as assigned by management Minimum Qualifications * Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Project Management or equivalent work experience * Minimum 2 years' experience in technical writing * Minimum 5 years' experience teaching or training * Minimum 5 years' experience in a Commercial Lending Environment * Knowledge of the Commercial process end-to-end * Knowledge of Mortgage/Commercial Regulatory Guidelines (RESPA Reform Frank-Dodd Act), TRID and Reg B loan disclosures, HMDA, UCC Article 9 * Background in training program development * Excellent interpersonal and people skills, dynamic speaker that can hold associates attention * Excellent verbal and written communication skills required * Ability to effectively communicate and simplify complex business/software processes to all levels of the organization * Ability to work with minimal supervision and facilitate business decisions * Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects within the timelines assigned * Ability to work in a team environment, presenting a professional image and commanding respect of staff, peers, and senior management * Strong project management and leadership skills to prepare training and communication plans and gain buy-in from stakeholders and management * Project or Product Management experience preferred * Change Management experience preferred * Must have experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
