VIEW JOBS 11/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-14T00:00 Technical Consultant within Project & Technology (PTIT) working in Technology, Dev & Wells Project Delivery group in the Global Labs work steam reporting to the IT Manager Global Labs. Primary responsibility of the Technical Consultant will act as a SME in the technology or application being developed or deployed, especially for the key workhorse applications used within Global Labs such as SampleManager, IntegrationManager, Chemical Inventory (CISPro), Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), OpenLab. The Technical Consultant must have deep knowledge of the Shell IT infrastructure setup and will drive the integration of the new and existing system/platform into Shell's IT landscape. This includes knowledge of authentication protocols, network dependencies, Active Directory footprint and other necessary integration requirements. Responsibilities * Provide consultancy to projects, making sure applications are well designed and conform to Shell standards and reference/segment architectures * Being able to address and integrate the: Business Process, Data, Application, Technical and Information Security aspects of an IT Solution * Coach detailed designers and business analysts in projects during their design work * Reviewing the detailed design of an IT solution * Interact with stakeholders on architecture issues and strategic improvements where such expertise is required. For the application or technology being developed / deployed, the Technical Consultant will perform the following; * Analysis of and at times, support in developing the Technical Design * Independent Testing from PoC through to UAT * Advising the Configuration of Cloud-Based solutions * Working with Business Analysts and Solution Architects to translate End User Requirements into Technical Design Specifications * Responsible for delivering solution designs to projects. These solutions need to be fit for purpose within the portfolio, have technical integrity, the right TCO (total cost of ownership) through its life cycle and a good fit with the IT technology direction of Shell Shell Houston TX
