Sage Intacct is a cloud-based accounting software that provides users with instant access to information and answers from within the product. Our searchable, browsable help system along with release notes, user interface text, and other messaging empowers and supports our users. We are looking for a Documentation Manager to help maintain and extend our quality commitment as we grow and expand.

As Documentation Manager, you will oversee a team of technical writers in creating highly usable, contextual content that supports our users' ability to self-service their information needs. You will work with the Director of Documentation, as well as other leaders and cross-functional teams, to understand product priorities and customer needs. Supervising the writing team, you will ensure that content milestones are met for quarterly releases and other deliverables.

Leveraging your background in content strategy and team management, you will guide the writers' efforts and help sustain our culture of continuous improvement and innovation as we focus on customers' ease of learning.


  • Manage a team of writers in creating high-quality user assistance, release notes, and other product content.

  • Work with the Director of Documentation and cross-functional teams to understand priorities, vision, and roadmap.

  • Prioritize efforts and oversee schedules to ensure timely delivery of quarterly release content and targeted improvements.

  • Provide input to writers on content strategy, timelines, and plans.

  • Drive process improvements to ensure the Documentation team is operating efficiently and effectively.

  • Assist in evangelizing and developing writing standards and guidelines.

  • Collaborate with other Doc department leaders, including strategic leads for global content, developer content, release communications, and design/usability for help systems.

  • Oversee employee performance, including individual writer goals and performance reviews.


  • 3+ years managing writers on a high-performance team.

  • Confidence and ability to lead in a fast-paced environment, with multiple initiatives and deliverables.

  • 5+ years previous experience as a technical writer, with proven ability to drive content strategy

  • Experience with complex, multi-faceted software.

  • Well-honed communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to promote teamwork, collaboration, and innovation.

  • Proficiency in help authoring tools, such as MadCap Flare, is a plus.

  • Experience with accounting or financial solutions is desirable.

  • Familiarity with globalization and localization is preferred.

You can skillfully foster all phases of the GTM fiscal year lifecycle from planning to execution through to process improvements. In addition, you: Develop programs and projects with all aspects of Sales, Marketing, Legal, Finance, IT/Ops, BP, Engineering, and Product Management teams. Dive deep to map out existing business processes to clarify steps, owners, hand-offs, decisions, etc., plus redesign select business processes to achieve greater scale and effectiveness for the organization * Excel at decision-making, consensus building, and conflict management across cross functional groups. * Ensure there is a "Global" or consolidated view of all programs – both outside and inside GTM * Continually look for ways to improve and scale GTM business processes * Facilitate lessons learned, knowledge sharing, and documentation of standard methodologies Requirements * 10+ years in a similar role at fast growing enterprise software company. * Experience working within Sales Ops or GTM Operations on cross-functional business problems. * Experience running and managing fiscal year processes, understanding the impact of the business and making recommendations to stakeholders. * Structured thinker. Develop and use frameworks to guide the team's thinking, facilitate alignment on key strategic decisions among various stakeholders and identify the 80/20 opportunities to reach insightful, actionable answers without boiling the ocean with analysis overload. * Dedicated and relentless project leadership and execution. * Independently capable of seeking information, solving conceptual problems, corralling resources and delivering results in challenging situations.
