Physical Optics Corporation (POC), is a fast-growing Southern California high tech company specializing in advanced military defense, homeland security, and energy solutions. We are seeking a highly motivated Document Specialist for our Administrative Division. Our Document Specialist will be responsible for document processing, understanding and following solicitations/contract requirements, and implementing consistent formats and styles throughout various documents (e.g. reports, CDRLs, etc.). He/She will be a self-starter that pays attention to detail, meets deadlines, and maintains consistency throughout documents.

Primary Expectations/Responsibilities:

  • Create and revise text productively, effectively, and efficiently. Document formatting and processing using current boilerplates and in accordance with solicitation/contract requirements.

  • Ensure consistency of layout, editing, styles, and compliance with requirements throughout the proposal cycle.

  • Revise graphics in Illustrator, Photoshop, Power Point or other graphics software, and insert and place graphics into documents.

  • Partner with authors, editors and graphic designers while maintaining text, document and art version control. File, shred, and organize/update network folders.

Knowledge and Experience: Required: 2+ years of experience with MS Word using styles, equation editor, and formatting tables.

Skills, Tools, and Abilities: Must have excellent knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Office products, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Must have strong organizational skills, be detail oriented, efficient, and have the ability to multi-task. Solid oral, written communication, and listening skills. Familiarity with: Experience in inserting graphics.

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Physical Job Requirements:
The employee in the position will be required to occasionally move throughout the facilities including, climbing stairs, when necessary.

Occasional bending and reaching in an office environment, including opening and closing file cabinets drawers with light grasping. Type on a standard keyboard (laptop or desktop). Use standard computer display screens. Use standard push button phones, and must speak clearly and be understood by others.

Sit in a standard up-right position for a minimum of one hour, but up to 12 hours in a day. Be able to lift and carry weight unassisted not exceeding 20 lbs.
