Encova Insurance has an immediate opening for a Document Solutions Developer. This role will have the option to work a remote or hybrid schedule and you must reside within two hours driving time to our corporate office in Columbus, Ohio. We can hire at multiple seniority levels depending on candidate qualifications and compensation shown is inclusive of all job profiles.

This role will report to the Team Lead, Application Services.

JOB OBJECTIVE:

Associate will be working on Document Solutions mainly focused on Smart Communications. This person will be responsible for designing and developing documents and other communication templates like email. Work with business analysts, understand requirements and implement them independently. Working with other team members both internal and cross teams to integrate the services, troubleshoot and support. Take ownership of complex user stories and lead to completion.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Design and develop templates, layouts, style sets and data models. Strong knowledge of designing complex templates like worksheets, statements and invoices.

• Demonstrate continued technical growth.

• Improve code standards within primary technical domain.

• Learn code standards within a secondary technical domain.

• Assist in the configuration of ancillary software tooling and technology.

• Provide estimates for own stories in first domain.

• Support stories that resolve technical debt.

• Participate in team meetings and project scrum meetings.

• Write, test and document complex code needed to implement approved requests for changes; verify the accuracy and completeness of coding.

• Great at communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

• Represent development team working with cross functional teams.

• Aid in the growth of peer technical domain expertise.

• Assist in designing user story implementation.

• Assist in evaluating business user story alterations in the primary technical domain.

• Approve code changes made by peers of similar or lower technical domain expertise.

• Consistently engage in behaviors that produce great experiences and outcomes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• BS/BA or greater in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field required.

• Preferred 3+ years of software development experience

• Should have 3+ years of experience in Smart Communications or other CCM Application. Hands on experience using Smart Communications Template Designer and Data Modeler.

• Experience managing Smart Comm Appliances, configurations and administration.

• Expertise in any Object-Oriented Programming. Good knowledge of using JavaScript and/or Java.

• Expertise working with XMLs, XSD and JSON.

• Have hands on experience on REST/Soap APIs. Experience with Postman and SoapUI will be an advantage.

• Strong experience in implementing Draft Editor with SSO, barcodes and multi-channel delivery.

• Hands on experience on any print management application, preferred.

• Guidewire knowledge is an added plus.

• Preferred hands-on experience on any ECM applications like FileNet, Datacap or Kofax

• Must possess a general understanding of technical skills, programming languages and tools used by the company.

• Logical thinking in making decisions, completing work tasks and solving problems.

• Ability to achieve continuous improvement in your technical and business acumen skillset.

• Must possess good written communication skills.
