Job Summary:

The Document Scanning Specialist will assist the Billing and Payroll departments with their scanning and indexing needs on a daily basis. He or she will review driver and customer paperwork and ensure that all documents are scanned and indexed into our system accordingly with the correct information. The Document Scanning Specialists secondary job function will be to process and invoice for Billing for any accounts assigned to him or her.

The ideal candidate must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail and be self-motivated.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Work directly with the Billing and Payroll Departments.

  • Assist outside terminals with scanning during times of need due to employee absences.

  • Review paperwork for issues that could negatively affect Billing and/or Payroll.

  • Process documents for Billing.

  • Invoice customers for Billing.

  • Retain procedural information with note taking.

  • Manage priorities and workload responsibilities.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work successfully and professionally in a team environment.

  • Self-motivated and focused to complete tasks with limited supervision and instruction.

  • Strong organizational and time management skillsable to meet strict deadlines.

  • Detail oriented

Formal position summary: Reviews and collaboratively corrects clinical documentation to ensure that level of patient services provided is accurately and completely documented. Responsibilities: * Performs ongoing medical record review using documentation improvement guidelines to evaluate overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation. Conducts follow-up reviews of clinical documentation to ensure issues discussed and clarified with clinical staff have been recorded in patient's chart. * Works with physicians and medical staff to improve clinical documentation for more accurate code assignments and a more accurate case mix. * Establishes and maintains a system to track and analyze outcomes of documentation improvement program. Prepares regular outcomes progress reports and presents as designated to administrative staff and committees. * Uses performance improvement methodologies and education strategies to develop formal training and improvement programs for staff concerning clinical documentation opportunities, coding and reimbursement issues. Provides ongoing updates as regulations change. * Other duties as assigned. * Maintains professional development. What You Will Need * Required: Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Maryland Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. * Required: Associates Degree * Required: One year computer data input/retrieval experience and one year as a Clinical Documentation Specialist OR three years' experience in adult inpatient Med-Surg, critical care unit, Utilization Review (UR), or Care Management at date of hire. * Preferred: ICD Coding and APR-DRG experience with Clinical Documentation Improvement experience at date of hire * Preferred: Bachelors Degree * Preferred: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). * Preferred: Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) credentialed from the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Speicalists (ACDIS) * Preferred: ICD Coding and APR-DRG assignment courses at date of hire Equal Employment Opportunity We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
