Overview

Perform a variety of clerical support activities in support of conversion of paper records into digital format. Organize, catalog, index and complete other duties in preparation for documents for scanning into the electronic document management systems. Perform quality review to ensure scanned documents are legible and in correct order before saving to repository. Keep statistics on document preparation and scanning activity to provide periodic project updates.

ResponsibilitiesOrganize and prepare documents for scanning including removing staples, straightening wrinkled pages, copying and other duties in preparation for scanning.Scan documents using the document scanning hardware following the established process.Review scanned pages to ensure the documents are legible and appropriately organized prior to committing to the repository.Keep statistics on documents prepared and scanned to give periodic progress update.Escalate any issues pertaining to the scanning process to leadership in a timely manner to ensure project stay on timeline.Maintain confidentially of the content of the files at all times.Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Able to use PC, Scanner, Copier

  • Lifting and/or carrying objects weighing 11 to 20 pounds

VIEW JOBS 12/5/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-05T00:00 Overview The Clinical Coding Analyst assures that all medical records are retrieved and made available for coding and billing purposes. This position is responsible for monitoring any inpatient and outpatient medical records reports, DNFB, revenue cycle. Collaboration with departments and personnel to obtain records, provide followup, statistical data/reporting, and quality data of all patients' medical records. Work closely with Patient Financial Services, Patient Access and departments that create and document in the medical record for Umiversity of MAryland Capital Region Health facilities. Responsibilities * Performs coding assistance tasks to ensure all records are received and available for coding in electronic and paper formats * Work closely with Coding Manager as it relates to Inpatient and Outpatient DNFB * Keeps track of required logs for tracking and monitoring of query's, back-end changes, etc. * Researches problems that hinders coding (admission/discharge dates, incorrect account #, physician orders) * Problem-solves records' issues with physicians, finance, service departments and system related issues * Familiar with and performs backend/financial system changes and identifies problems with accounts that appear on the inpatient and outpatient DNFB working through the EMR and paper record * Assists in scanning, filing and monitoring of records for remote coding when necessary * Follow-up as necessary with physicians regarding query's that have not been responded to timely * Ensures that all discharged accounts whether inpatient or outpatient are available for coding * Monitors various reports to minimize number of records not coded resulting in unbilled records * Retrieves paper charts from services when necessary and assure all records/documents are available electronically * Responsible for notifying management of missing incomplete records or parts of records * Work closely with Coding Manager as it relates to Inpatient and Outpatient DNFB * Keeps track of required logs for tracking and monitoring of query's, back-end changes, etc. * Identify, compile and code patient data, using ICD-10-CM and CPT and other standard classification coding systems. * Assist with departmental audits and research related to coding initiatives and quality management * Organize and verify patient records, bills, and statements * Performs any requested assignments, tasks or duties within the HIM department and in accordance to job description Qualifications AA degree required in Health Information Technology or related field; or in lieu of degree, significant health information management experience will be considered * Coding knowledge and background in health information management department. * Preferred inpatient hospital setting or related healthcare services experience with concepts, rules and regulations * Experience preferred with coding procedures in an electronic medical record and images of documents * Knowledge of medical record assembly, analysis and content of patient medical records * Strong working knowledge of Medical Terminology and CPT; ICD-10 nomenclatures Dimensions Health Care Cheverly MD
