Responsibilities, Expectations, and Duties:
Work Directly with Resident Engineers, Field Engineers and Field Inspectors.
Attend pre-construction meetings and answer questions from contractors and other attendees.
Review documentation related to inspection findings.
Comply with client policies and procedures for inspection work under contract.
Engage in frequent contact with client and contractor personnel.
Stores and maintains project attributes in NDOT's AASHTOWare Project (AWP) software
Ensures project administration and accounting documentation meets contract requirements.
Verifies labor compliance, certified payrolls, Buy America and EEO interviews on Federal-aid projects.
Verifies Contractor pay estimates and assists the Resident Engineer (RE) with project administration tasks and workplace initiatives as directed.
Performs a variety of special projects or additional work as needed/assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
Must have experience working with NDOT either for a consultant or at NDOT.
Associates degree preferred; equivalent experience and training may be considered.
Technical understanding/ability.
Desire to succeed and learn new skills.
Commitment to excellence and high standards.
Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
Professional, creative, team-focused individual that works well with others in a team
Valid state driver's license.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, electronic spreadsheet, document management systems, and workstation tools.
Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.
Competent self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
