GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Document Control Manager is responsible for overseeing the creation, management, and distribution of technical drawings and documents within the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proper access to critical information. This position manages the entire document lifecycle from drafting to final distribution, including quality control and adherence to established procedures. Responsible for creating templates, drafting style guides, making training materials, managing Drafters, and ensuring that departmental operating procedures are documented. Manages activities involved in records management/document control and directs the overall document control activities of the Drafting & Document Control department. • Develops Company policies and procedures. Assigns and reviews activities, resolves problem areas, coordinates administrative workload leveling requirements, coordinates and performs project personnel administration activities, coordinates administrative functions and interfaces with employees throughout the company. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, and directs the work of others. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance, if needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and maintain a document management system and procedures to ensure efficient and effective document control processes.
- Implement and manage the document control system, including document numbering, processing, distribution, revision control, and archiving.
- Train employees in the use of the document management system and procedures.
- Ensure that all documentation complies with regulatory, legal, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that documents are reviewed, approved, and released on schedule.
- Manage the document change control (ECO) process, including review and approval of change requests and documentation of change.
- Organize and maintain a central repository of documents, ensuring that documents are easily accessible and retrievable.
- Ensure that all documents are properly labeled, indexed, revision controlled, and filed in a timely manner.
- Conduct internal audits of the document management system to ensure compliance with company procedures and industry regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards around document control and regulatory compliance (such as ISO9001, ISO13485 or FDA 21 CFR Part 11, MDD and MDR).
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to change.
- Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the assigned duties, including computer skills.
- Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by company and government requirements.
- Communicate and interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and public, including maintaining respect for others, and following company policies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
- Requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in document control, drafting and mechical design.
- Experience managing a document management system, including document numbering, processing, distribution, and archiving.
- Experience developing and implementing document control processes and procedures.
- Experience with document management software.
PREFERRED:
- Experience with document management, revision control, and document release of Engineering technical documents on Aerospace & Defense programs.
- Experience with management of program and project roles, user management.
Word Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Office, production/manufacturing environments.
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
- Standing, walking, bending and reaching.
- Maybe required to lift up to 20 pounds.
Travel Requirements: Yes, if needed.
