We are seeking several experienced Document Control Coordinators for our Los Angeles District office to work at various project locations in the surrounding LA area.


  • Handles the document flow within the environment and monitors where general correspondence is at all times as it relates to bid documents, drawings, binders etc.

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining a filing system for storage and retrieval of documents.

  • Responsible for the coordination and distribution of all bid documents, drawings, binders etc.

  • Confer with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.

  • Examine documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.

  • Requisition and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.

  • Document and drawing control as it relates to receiving new and/or revised drawings. The issuing of new and/or revised drawings.

  • Other duties as assigned by department manager.


  • Experience managing documents, inventories, and files

  • Experience with communication between departments and companies.

  • Detail-oriented and attention to quality of information being tracked.

  • Ability to accurately maintain and organize files and documents.

  • Ability to use office equipment such as copier, fax machine, and scanner.

  • The successful candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel) and other construction industry related software.

DEFINITION: Performs quality control work, related to revising, re-examining, re-calculating, and dispositioning of applications, for medical assistance programs. Essential Job Functions Reviews completed applications for medical assistance programs to ensure accuracy relative to patient eligibility requirements, spend down limitations, and computations made manually or through the LEADER Replacement System (LRS). Processes applications for medical assistance, sets up payment plans for cases previously found ineligible, and makes recommendations for reimbursement to patients in cases where payment has already been made. Contacts and interviews applicants, recipients, relatives, and others to substantiate information contained in the applications and to resolve discrepancies found pertinent to the correct determination of eligibility. Analyzes, evaluates, and determines the accuracy and completeness of eligibility information; and substantiates pertinent eligibility information by documentary or other appropriate evidence. Obtains authorizations for seeking further documentation from individuals and representatives of business and governmental organizations to resolve discrepancies. Collects data and enters patient information into the Los Angeles Eligibility Automated Determination Evaluation and Reporting LEADER Replacement System (LRS) as well as other information systems. Identifies problem areas in properly determining eligibility and prepares and submits summary reports to management with recommendations for appropriate corrective action. Independently manages and organizes workload to meet legal requirements and deadlines. Leads a unit of patient financial services staff when needed. Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Option I: Two (2) years of experience at the level of Patient Financial Services Worker*, interviewing patients or their representatives to determine patients' financial eligibility for a variety of medical assistance programs including the actual preparation of applications for Medi-Cal and various governmental medical assistance programs Option II: One (1) year of experience at the level of Supervising Patient Financial Services Worker I. LICENSE: A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions. Physical Class II – Light: Light physical effort which may include occasional light lifting to a 10 pound limit, and some bending, stooping or squatting. Considerable walking may be involved. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT INFORMATION: Patient Financial Services Worker* is defined as acquires data essential to the determination of patients' eligibility for federal, State, County, or other healthcare programs; and assists patients in preparing/completing applications for healthcare programs to reimburse the County for healthcare services. Supervising Patient Financial Services Worker I is defined as Supervises staff engaged in screening for and determining patients' eligibility for federal, State, County, or other healthcare programs including Medi-Cal and special programs, and for determining access to health care services and assisting patients in preparing/completing applications for healthcare programs and health insurance and primary care linkage options. EXAMINATION CONTENT: This examination will consist of two parts: Part I : An evaluation of experience based upon application information, weighted 50%. Part II: An Appraisal of Promotability designed to evaluate Knowledge and Skills, Productivity/Adaptability, Dependability, Verbal and Written Communication Skills and Supervision, weighted 50%. CANDIDATES MUST ACHIEVE A PASSING SCORE OF 70% OR HIGHER ON EACH WEIGHTED PART OF THE EXAMINATION IN ORDER TO BE PLACED ON THE ELIGIBLE REGISTER.
