About the practice

Established in the 1970s, this family practice is operated by the founder's son, Dr. Brian E. Elliott. This practice has provided full-service optometry to families and residents for over 40 years in Stanislaus and San Joaquin Counties, and specializes in contact lenses, vision therapy, corneal disease, low vision, and treats complex vision disorders. With two additional locations in Riverbank and Escalon, Modesto Optometric Vision Center is looking to grow its team of 26 staff members.

As a long-standing business in the community, this practice focuses on total patient wellness and providing high-quality, affordable products. The practice is well-appointed with automated optical equipment and behind-the-scenes functional technology that includes digital retinal imaging, OCT, visual field testing, automated phoropters, and corneal mapping. Patients enjoy a family-friendly shopping experience as they browse a wide selection of optical frames and sunglasses from the optical boutiqueplus a full-service optical dispensary is ready to conveniently service patients.

About the opening

The practice is seeking one full-time Doctor of Optometry to provide high-quality care for patients of all ages, insurances, and visual/medical diagnoses. In this role, you'll perform eye exams for vision and ocular health, and handle eye care emergencies. The current office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The OD will work 40 hours per week, five days a week, and will be required to provide care at the Modesto, Riverbank, and Escalon locations. A candidate interested in vision therapy, low vision, and corneal disease would be a complementary addition to the practice.

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as compassion for patient health and safety. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, responsible, service-oriented, community-involved, and willing to integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Doctor of Optometry license in the state of California
