Job Description


This position is primarily responsible for safely and efficiently loading, unloading, receiving, handling, issuing, inventory, and shipping of warehouse materials.


  • Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSE policies and procedures
  • Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped
  • Load/unload containers, lift materials, and identify, label, count, receive, and issue materials
  • Uses Warehouse Management System to process freight
  • Pack and/or ship materials in compliance with DOT and hazardous materials regulations

  • Maintain good housekeeping standards with focus on the care and custody of materials

  • Pick orders and prepare for delivery to include delivery documents

  • Prioritize and complete day-to-day activities as assigned based on customer needs

  • Work in Bonded Warehouse and follow instructions for bonding requirements

  • Demonstrate a pro-active approach toward safety and health in compliance with all Company, Governmental and Customer requirements

  • Performs all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Certification)

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Previous material handling, HAZMAT, and forklift experience preferred

  • Previous experience using Warehouse Management System preferred

  • Working knowledge of a computer

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including data entry

  • Follows instructions, responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions, completes tasks on time or communicates alternate plans

Startiing pay is $15.00 - $16.50 phr, depending on experience

VIEW JOBS 9/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-12-15T00:00 JOB SUMMARY The primary function of a Dockworker is to efficiently sort, handle, load and unload freight into over-the-road equipment, in accordance with oral and written instructions, as well as federal and state regulations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Load and unload cargo, with or without supplemental aids. * The work may include tasks such as rolling 600 pound drums into place and overhead loading of freight weighing as much as 80 pounds. * Uses good judgment to load and secure freight in such a way that the trailer can be operated safely and efficiently over the road to prevent damages. * Properly and efficiently completes all necessary paperwork required by law, regulation or Company policy. * Verifies the load against the shipping papers, noting in writing any overages, shortages or damages. * Comprehends and complies with hazardous materials regulations and emergency responses. * Communicates with supervision regularly to report conditions. * Sweeps or cleans up dock and equipment.
