Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated professional to serve as a liaison between Programs based staff. The ideal candidate will coordinate the review of all clinical program files and keyboard memos and reports. We invite all qualified applicants to apply.
Job Responsibililties
Serves as a liaison between Programs-based staff.
Coordinates the review of all clinical program files and ensures all appropriate documentation is completed and filed timely by staff.
Serves as working supervisor.
Monitors employees in completion of meritorious good time forms, transfer requests, and funeral furloughs.
Keyboards memos and reports for the Clinical Services Supervisor.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of those enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of study at a secretarial/business college AND one (1) years of office experience; OR completion of high school and three (3) years of Office Assistant experience; OR three (3) years of independent business experience.
Requires ability to type accurately at 30 words per minute.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefers at least two (2) years of supervisory experience in an office setting.
Prefers at least two (2) years of experience applying office procedures in a work setting.
Prefers at least two (2) years of experience operating manual and automated office equipment.
Prefers at least two (2) years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite or similar programs.
Prefers at least two (2) years of experience maintaining a paper filing system and/or electronic filing system.
Prefers at least two (2) years of experience keyboarding various documents including proofreading for accuracy, spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors.
Prefers at least two (2) years of experience using data to create reports.
Conditions of Employment
Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of the position held, is prohibited.
