Position Overview

The Contract Management Supervisor at the Department of Corrections serves as the lead professional over all Agency contracts. The ideal candidate will ensure appropriate fund obligations with the Comptroller and maintain records to avoid contract expirations. As the Agency Contract Management Supervisor, the Supervisor must lead a local subordinate staff of seven employees in the dedicated roles of contract oversight and review. The Supervisor will also assist and guide staff at our 27 facilities by providing direction and training, if needed. Essential Functions

  • Plans, coordinates, directs and manages the Contract Management Unit for the Public Safety Shared Services Center.

  • Serves as a full-line supervisor.

  • Provides notifications to end-users of need for renewals, amendments, and new contracts allowing adequate time for the procurement process and contract execution prior to contract start date.

  • Verifies the accuracy of procurement documents prior to Directors signature.

  • Provides copies of fully executed contracts to vendors and end-users.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college preferably with courses in business administration and accounting.

  • Requires three (3) years of professional supervisory experience in accounting, internal auditing, external auditing, budgetary planning and control, or public accounting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefers more than three (3) years of experience in contract writing/establishment, review, and monitoring within a large organization.

  • Prefers at least three (3) years of supervisory experience.

  • Prefers at least three (3) years of experience utilizing automated financial systems.

  • Prefers a Bachelors' Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Finance, Economics or Accounting.

  • Prefers at least two (2) years of experience auditing contracts.

  • Prefers at least six (6) months of experience with creating and administering training curriculum.

  • Prefers at least six (6) months of experience with BidBuy or other procurement software.

  • Prefers at least six (6) months of experience with SAP or other accounting system.
