DMV Services Technician 4 - Drive Test Examiner - Minimum Qualification Waived

The Position

DMV Services Technicians provide customer services associated with driver's license, vehicle, and business occupational licensing programs including licensing drivers; issuing identification cards; registering and titling vehicles; issuing occupational business licenses; and processing reinstatements.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. OR Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.

This recruitment will be used to fill multiple vacancies located in our Sahara and Henderson offices within the DMV Field Services Division. The Drive Test Examiner incumbent conducts non-commercial driving skills tests for customers including challenged and high-risk drivers; drivers with physical/intellectual disabilities and for non and/or limited English speaking customers.

Examiners determine an applicant's ability to safely operate a vehicle; reviews test results with applicants; counsel drivers, refers applicants to driver improvement courses, and applies restrictions to driving privileges when appropriate. Additional duties may include assisting with processing and issuing of driver's vehicle titles and registration; accepting payment for transactions and balancing of a cash drawer and received funds. Under the authority of NRS 239B.010.1(b), the DMV utilizes NRS 205.4605 - 205.810, NRS 293.504, NRS 293.5045, 6 CFR 37.45, 49 CFR 1572.103, and 49 CFR 384.228 as criteria to obtain a FBI fingerprint clearance check on current and prospective employees.
