Established in 2017, the Department of Juvenile Justice Health Services was established through a unique collaboration between Augusta University Health System and the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice with the goal of delivering high-quality health services to the state of Georgia¿s justice-involved youth in 25 facilities.

College/Department Information

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or a GED required, plus a minimum of 1 year experience performing secretarial /clerical assistant duties in an office setting

  • Working knowledge of MS Office to include Word, Outlook and Excel.

  • Good organizational and decision-making skills; good physical and mental health; able to work under pressure; must relate well to patients, security staff, visitors and co-workers.

  • Must be able to lift 20lbs. Normal bending, reaching, stooping.

    Standing and sitting for long periods of time. Must be able to move quickly in cases of emergency (within 4 minutes). Must speak English as a primary language. Normal levels of hearing and seeing, if necessary, with corrective appliances. Must be able to perform CPR.

  • Security Clearance by the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice.

Preferred:

Associate Degree, plus 3 years experience performing secretarial /clerical assistant duties in an office setting.

Correctional experience.

Responsibilities

Duties to include but are not limited to:

Under direction of the Lead Nurse - is responsible for performing a variety of routine clerical duties in support of an office or department. Also responsible for promoting a customer friendly environment and providing superior service to our youth, facility staff, family and outside vendors.
