Windsor Windows & Doors, a subsidiary of WoodgrainMillwork, has an immediate opening for a Division Quality Manager, located in West DesMoines, Iowa. This non-union facility isa make-to-order manufacturer of wood and vinyl windowsand doors for the mid to high-end housing and light commercial markets.

This Division Quality Manager will lead the quality and continuousimprovement initiatives in the areas of cost reduction, on-time delivery,safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, 5S and other plantperformance metrics.

The idealcandidate will have a Bachelor's or Engineering degree, 8-10+ years of senior qualitymanagement experience in the window or construction related industry, and 8-10+years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. A proven record in modern manufacturingtechniques such as Lean, Kaizen, etc. is preferred. A solid working knowledge of businessfinance, basic accounting, budgeting and information management are required.

Thesuccessful candidate will be a proven leader and work exceptionally well withothers, and be able to manage multiple priorities. Windsor is looking for a strong team playerwith excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The individual must haveproblem solving abilities with strong detail and technical skills.

Role Overview: * Ensures that the quality of UTC suppliers, products and processes are compliant with internal and regulatory standards and are continuously improving. * Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation, control systems and protocols for materials being processed into partially finished or finished products. * Working with product design and specification, devises testing plans, methods and equipment to assure reliability of product * Collaborates internally to ensure quality standards are in effect. * Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts. * Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect arriving, in-process and completed products for conformance to engineering requirements. * Uses a variety of measuring devices, testing equipment, and statistical control processes. * Performs in-process, final bench and product feature inspections. * Inspects actual products on the floor and on-line. * Performs First Article Inspections (FIA) and conformity inspections. * Raises notifications of non-conformance, quarantines non-conforming product and, when approved to do so, provides disposition. Primary Responsibilities: * Manages Technical / Business Support and/or Production employees. * Sets day-to-day operational objectives for team. * Ensures practices and procedures are followed by direct reports. * Plans and supervises daily activities of quality inspection technicians to ensure adherence to established department, organization, and customer specification parameters. * Assists in developing inspection plans and balances technician workloads to ensure effective use of resources. * Assists in the maintenance of inspection logs and writing inspection reports to document results to ensure that performance problems can be identified and resolved. * Assists in establishing inspection and testing specifications and procedures to ensure quality standards are met. * Sets up test apparatus and conducts tests of production assemblies and units following methods, procedures, standards, and sequences to ensure processes are in compliance with internal and regulatory standards. * Trains inspection technicians to ensure that the skills and performance of employees meet the organization's needs. * Conducts processes to modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation, control systems and protocols. * Provides explanations of testing and inspection plans, methods and technologies to assure reliability and conformance of products and processes. * Provides analysis and recommendations for corrective actions for non-conformities and/or design problems for internally produced products & processes. * Utilizes UPPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.) to identify and develop recommendations for managing risk in product development. * Conducts reviews to ensure all requirements are met for work transfer and process change management including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance. * Reviews process control documentation to ensure it is in compliance with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts.
