The Divisional Director of Resident Programming (DDRP) provides oversight for the implementation of resident programming in our Senior Living (IL, AL and Healthcare) and Memory Care Communities. The DDRP is responsible for providing support, education and oversight of assigned communities to ensure compliance with regulatory and Five Star Senior Living standards. This position requires extensive travel to the communities that you will be supporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works collaboratively with the Corporate Director of Resident Programming in the design and organization wide implementation of LifeStyle 360 and Bridge to Rediscovery program standards.
Develop collaborative partnership with divisional, regional and community level leadership to ensure accountability of program implementation.
Assists Executive Directors and Administrators in selecting and onboarding Lifestyle 360 Directors and Bridge to Rediscovery Directors for their assigned communities.
Educates Bridge to Rediscovery (BTR) Directors on Five Star's Dementia philosophy and our Montessori based programming approach. Educates Lifestyle 360 Directors on how to plan, schedule and implement an innovative, evidence based, seven days per week activity program that is engaging and incorporates the Five Dimensions of Wellness.
Educates the Lifestyle 360 Directors on how to develop a comprehensive monthly calendar of events for the community.
Educates the Lifestyle 360 Director on the development and distribution of the in house newsletter.
Collaborate with Lifestyle 360 Directors, BTR Directors and Marketing team to market the programs.
Brainstorm with the Lifestyle 360 Directors regarding planning events for the holidays and the monthly Lifestyle 360 Signature Program.
Conduct routine Community visits
Collaborate with divisional and/or regional leadership to determine priority visits
Collaborate with community leadership on agenda, visit outcome reports and follow up support
Assist with community mock surveys when indicated.
Provide subject matter expertise/support and resource to communities related to resident census, move-in, retention and/or care coordination needs.
Conduct monthly, quarterly and annual review of key clinical quality outcome measures daily review of significant incidents.
BTR program expansions provide assistance with program opening preparation (readiness, orientation, setup, design, marketing events etc.)
Establish an effective, regular communication plan with divisional and regional team members.
Conduct monthly webinar/calls with LS 360 and BTR Directors.
Supports organization and department mission, values and strategic initiatives.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Five or more years of combined experience in senior living recreation programming and Alzheimer's/Dementia care.
Demonstrated experience and success in multi-site community oversight experience (i.e. area, regional, divisional level).
Expert leadership skills: effective organizational, delegation and time management skills.
Demonstrate expertise in critical thinking and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to plan, create and implement effective educational programs.
Proficient knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks/responsibilities and complete duties/projects within the time allotted.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Graduate of an accredited Bachelor or Master's degree in human service or recreation therapy.
Alzheimer's/Dementia Care Certification preferred.
Acts as liaison between community, divisional and home office teams.
Communicates the philosophy of Lifestyle 360 and BTR to internal and external persons.
Effectively handles follow up issues with families, residents as requested.
Makes written and oral reports/recommendations to the Executive Director concerning the operation of the Lifestyle 360 and BTR Department.
Conducts monthly calls and sends out call notes for both Lifestyle 360 and BTR
