Adjunct, Clinical X, Health Sciences Clinical, In Residence

The Division of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals are recruiting faculty positions at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor rank of the Health Sciences (HS) Clinical, Clinical X, Adjunct, or In Residence faculty series. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.

Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program. This position may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses and would actively contribute to the Departments mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.

The faculty member will play an ongoing role in the training and education of medical students, nurse practitioner students, pediatric residents, and hospital medicine fellows. They will have access to our faculty development program, designed to assist faculty in achieving successful and fulfilling academic careers.

Clinical focus includes inpatient care (day and night coverage) at Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco, Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland, and/or affiliated community hospitals. It may include care in specialized inpatient units focused on neurology or bone marrow transplant. Clinical focus will be discussed during the interview process.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will possess a medical degree and license, board certification or eligibility in pediatrics, and a demonstrated interest in the care of hospitalized children and medical education.

Preferred Qualifications:

Fellowship training in pediatric hospital medicine, board certification or eligibility in pediatric hospital medicine, and a proven ability to work collaboratively across pediatric disciplines. Candidates with an interest in establishing or growing an independent research program are also encouraged to apply.

For positions that are 51% effort or more:

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5.

The minimum base salary range for this position is $99,200-$305,900. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 50% effort or less:

See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $70,800-$218,500.
